Book 4
Just one short season ago, major league center fielder John Roper had it all: the looks—and personal life—of a sports hero and the public's adoration. But this hot property's lucky streak has run out. After a World Series disaster, fans diss him, shock jocks mock him and his dysfunctional family hassles him for money he really can't spare.

Amy finds it's easier said than done. What with the constant intrusions of his nutty family, a crazed fan playing stalker, and Roper's refusal to put his own needs first, she's starting to think that life in the fast lane isn't all it's cracked up to be. But when the two retreat to a secluded lodge, the sexy center fielder throws Amy a curveball—one she never saw coming...

4.5 Stars!
The Hot Zone series follows the lives of 3 sisters,
who were orphaned when they were 12, 10 and 8 years old after their parents
died in a plane crash and they came to live with their bachelor uncle Yank
Morgan and who, with the help of his personal assistant Lola, raised them into
adulthood and now wants to pair them up with the men he deems perfect for them.
The books are all told in multiple POVs.
In Hot Stuff, we meet Annabelle and her sisters, Sophie
and Micki, and their uncle Yank Morgan and his assistant Lola, who has been
helping him raise the girls since they came to live with him and is in love
with Yank. While Yank is interested in Lola and the girls see her as their
mother, Yank is stubborn and set in his ways, nevermind that he’s just recently
diagnosed with macular degeneration and becoming blind, so the last thing he
wants is saddle Lola with a blind man. The girls all work with their uncle at
their PR firm, The Hot Zone. Yank is determined on marrying his nieces off and
he has the perfect candidate for his Annie, but things aren’t as easy as he
expects. For one, Lola decides to give Yank an ultimatum and ends up leaving
him and second, someone is targeting Brandon Vaughn—the client Yank is setting
Annie with—and his hotel and this might potentially put Annie in harm’s way.
Hot Number: Micki has always been every bit the
tomboy, following her uncle around as he dealt with his athlete clients and
being regarded as one more of the boys, even by the guy who she hasn’t been
able to stop thinking about since they shared a hot Christmas kiss. Determined
to make Damian notice her, she transforms herself into from tomboy to hot
number, but even if she manages to get Damian’s attention, Damian’s past might
threaten their future.
Hot Item: Sophie Jordan like order and control, it’s
her way of coping with the loss of her parents and her fear of things changing.
She’s also not too fond of athletes, but when she meets star quarterback Riley Nash
and fate throws them together as they both look for Spencer Atkins, Yank’s
business partner, she might not have that much of a choice in the matter.
However, even if the chemistry between them burns hot, there are many things
that stand in the way to their HEA.
Hot Property: John Roper’s luck seems to have run out
and he’s in dire need of a publicist to help him deal with the aftermath of a
World Series disaster that threatens to ruin his career for good. Amy Stone,
Spencer’s niece, is assigned with the duty to help Roper’s life and career get
back on track. However, his family and his refusal to put his own needs first
and a stalker that just doesn’t know when to quit will make things a whole lot
more difficult.
I loved that there was an ongoing storyline that
connected the four books in the series and that we got to see Uncle Yank’s
antics through them all. I loved him and Lola together, even if it took a bit
for that to come to fruition. And of course, it was a treat to catch up with
Annie, Micki and Sophie throughout the books and see how they were doing in
their respective marriages.
The female leads were feisty and independent, with a
strong sense of family. The male leads were handsome, strong and reliable. The chemistry
between the couples was awesome and the sex scenes were hot, hot, hot!
The books were fun and delightful, with low angst,
although the added element of suspense in all of them, helped moving things
along at a nice pace. I don’t think I can pick a favorite character, other than
Uncle Yank, since I loved them all. And really, while the books can be read as
standalones, I suggest starting with Hot Stuff and work your way through the
series, this is one you don’t want to miss out on!
Highly recommendable!!!
