Sometimes a marriage of convenience isn't all that convenient.

Soap opera star Cody's celebrity lifestyle is about to come crashing down when he inherits a grizzly-sized dog. Maggie comes with a nine million dollar trust, and Cody isn't the only one after the money. If he wants permanent custody, he must prove he can provide a stable home for a beast the size of a bus.
Enter Shane, a hunky animal trainer who always needs funds for his big dog rescue center.
It's a brilliant plan. One quickie Vegas wedding later, Cody and Shane are the dream couple to adopt Maggie. The judge will love them. The cash is in the bag.
Or is it? Now there are nine million reasons for Cody's half-brother to prove the marriage is a complete fake.
Meanwhile, the two new husbands are having trouble keeping their hands off each other.

3 Stars!

I really enjoyed the blurb and the beginning of the story was fabulously entertaining. However, somewhere around the midway point, it all started to feel a little too saccharine for my taste. Cody and Shane have great chemistry and it's clear from the very start that they have strong feelings for one another but it began to come off quite sappy. While many readers will probably find it cute and sweet, I personally needed a more serious, gritty tone to the story.

The whole story revolves around a fake marriage to ensure custody of a dog who has recently inherited 9 million dollars. Cody, a soap star, and his ex-boyfriend, celebrity dog trainer Shane make a business arrangement involving them tying the knot in order to secure guardianship of Maggie. Maggie, a 2 yr old Newfoundland, was originally Cody's late father's dog. He stipulates in his will that the dog inherits his estate of 9 million dollars and her handler will be the trustee of the money. Now Cody and his half brother Mitchell are determined to be the one to bring Maggie home.

It's a fun second chance love story of two men who still love one another years after their relationship ended. Other than the too sweet scenes, the writing is good and I enjoyed the characters. I would have no problem recommending this story.
