4 Stars

I loved Twin Runes and was so excited to see what would happen next. While I liked Jocelyn and Gunnar's story, I thought it paled in comparison to the first book, especially the first half. The first half was too slow. I felt it needed some excitement or conflict to make it more exciting and move it along.

The characters were likable, but felt too sappy at times. Rebecca Brooke is known for her feisty female leads, which is why I don't mind reading her MF books, but Jocelyn was missing that. She felt too weak.

The second half of the book was much better. It was action-packed and had mystery and suspense. The author does a wonderful job at creating action scenes. They are exciting and keep you on your toes.

All in all, this was an enjoyable read and I'm left looking forward to seeing where this series goes next. Very recommendable read!!
