Not really a love story, but a tale of a Dom who's feeling restless and unfulfilled, and a damaged sub.
Book 1 in this series was pretty decent and I enjoyed it and had the same expectations for this one. Like book 1, this had a Dom who was smaller in stature than the sub, but the similarity ends there.
I wasn't entirely sure that Nash could be called a Dom, as he didn't seem to have much self-control and didn't seem very certain of himself at all. Yes, I got that he was searching for someone/something and that he had an attraction to Joshua, but he went about things like a bull in a china shop, jumping to conclusions and being very judgmental.
Joshua was damaged—there's no other word for it. A sub without safe words, without limits, and into pain, pain, and more pain. We didn't entirely get an explanation of why he felt so unworthy, though there was mention that he'd been on the streets since his early teens. I'm glad that towards the end of the book he was getting help, but I'm not convinced that he'd stick with it or that the guys had anything beyond a D/s relationship.
I couldn't picture these guys together, sorry, and other than D/s scenes, there wasn't even one that was entirely reciprocal. The tale ended with the leads trying to pursue a relationship, but it's not one that I'd call love or romance.
