The universe works in mysterious ways.

Well, it did for me, anyway.

It was like it knew that I needed him.

It put him in my life during a time I honestly thought I couldn’t go on.

He was broken. I was broken.

We only had one thing to offer each other – friendship.

A true, deep, incredible friendship.

Laughter fixed us.

Talking bonded us.

He quickly became my everything.

This is our story.

I can’t promise it’s always perfect.

It might make you laugh.

It might make you cry.

It might even make you love.

It's real.

It’s us. Besties.

3.5 Stars!!!

I'm sure everyone knows by now that I am a huge fan of Motorcycle Club Romance. I love books centered around Bikers, the women they fall in love with and all the action and drama surrounding the club. I've been a fan of Bella Jewels for a while now, having loved the Sinner's MC and Jokers' Wrath MC series. So I jumped at the chance to be able to review Bestie, having such high hopes for it. But as it seems to happen more and more frequently whenever I pump myself up for a book, it just didn't live up to my expectations. So maybe some of it was me but there were just too many things that made this an okay read versus a great read.

First and foremost, I just couldn't connect with the characters. I know they were young but they just came off as much more immature than I thought the story called for. Their conversations, first by text then by phone until it develops into more are slightly juvenile. The giggling, the somewhat cheesy banter just weren't my thing. I'm not saying they were bad necessarily, but they just didn't connect me to the characters enough to invest in them.

Molly is shattered after being dumped by her boyfriend Michael. Running into Roman, a guy she's only met in passing, seems to come at the perfect time. Both are trying to get over broken hearts and developing a friendship with each other helps in the healing process.

I guess I had a hard time understanding Molly's devastation because we never really get to see Molly's relationship with Michael. We really don't know if they were good together or not so, how can I feel bad that they broke up? I think the author could have offered more of a detailed account of the relationship, to help me understand why Molly was so devastated. The storyline as it's written wasn't enough. And as for Roman, yes, it sucks the way his girlfriend broke up with him. She doesn't sound like a great person but again I almost needed more backstory.

All in all, I love the idea of this story. Two people coming together as friends to help ease the heartbreak after failed relationships. Their friendship gives them something positive to focus on as well as the opportunity to vent about their exes, their feelings and what they really want. While the story was good it just needed more. I needed more.
