Sean continues to try and break through Dom-for-hire Max's walls, although Max is equally intent on not allowing Sean to get any closer than he has to be. Not an easy feat, considering Max wants Sean to be closer, even if he can't allow himself to open up to his newest sub. Who will win in this battle of love and wills?
I really love Sean. He's awesome, so strong and resilient. I loved that he kept trying and trying to show Max the depth of his feelings and how willing he was to fight for what he wanted. I liked Max, but really, there were several times in which I wanted to strangle him or slap some sense into him. Yes, what he went through when he was younger wasn't easy, however, he didn't even try, locking out his heart so no one could get close to him in a romantic sense. I could've clobbered Max for how stubborn he was about it all and for how he hurted Sean like he did. Their scenes in and out of the dungeon were intense and the chemistry between them was undeniable. I would've liked that Sean didn't give in as easily when Max went to find him, but it worked well in the end, so I won't complain about that... much. ;)
The secondary storyline with Tad and Scott and the glimpse into Kai and Brent's future book were great. Scott is, without a doubt, my favorite Kora Knight character and it was lovely to catch up with him and Tad.
Overall, the book was intense, full of passion, denial, stubbornness, angst, (me wanting to shake Max,) love and forgiveness. While I'm not a fan of BDSM books, I enjoyed Revived, it was well-written and detailed, without going overboard. Recommendable!
