Will a centuries-old broken heart ruin the promise of new love?
Dominic Ashworth is descended from a long line of witches, although the family practice of witchcraft died out generations ago. Forever connected to a dark history, the house he grew up in remained in the Ashworth family for generations until his estranged father sold it.
On a mission to check out the new owners, Dominic runs into Caleb Jones and gives the gorgeous man his phone number—but getting a date should be the last thing on Dominic’s agenda.
Caleb and his best friend, Zach Briceworth, are oblivious to the heartache and magic tied to the foundations of their new home. When strange things start to happen, the truth emerges and surprises them both, especially as everything revolves around Caleb’s new love interest.
After a shaky start, Caleb and Dominic settle into an easy relationship, falling faster than either of them expected. But with Halloween approaching, the possibility of danger increases. The past is not always as it seems, and the ripples of a tragic event threaten to put an end to everything between them.

Dominic Ashworth descends from a long line of witches on his mother's side, the magic they practiced long forgotten now, even if they've managed to keep most of their history alive through books and word of mouth. When his sister and he discover that their father sold the house they grew up (which is tied up to an almost 200-year-old mystery) to some long distance relative, Dominic takes it upon himself to investigate if the buyer bears the protective mark that all Ashworths should wear to prevent the spirit of Alexander Ashworth from returning to this realm. What he finds there at the house is Caleb Jones and his best friend Zach Briceworth, the son of the man who bought the house.
Unable to verify if Zach bears the tattoo, and feeling very drawn to Caleb, Dominic hides his knowledge of the magic that surrounds the house. Caleb and Dominic fall into an easy relationship, but with the strange things start happening at the house, the real possibility that they might all be in danger grows the closer to Halloween they get.
I absolutely loved Dominic, and even if he made some mistakes by not revealing the whole truth, he had a good reason for why he didn't do it. I loved Caleb, as well, even if in a smaller measure. Not his fault, I was just fed up by some of the circumstances. I really enjoyed the easy camaraderie they shared and their chemistry.
Loved the secondary characters, especially Dominic's sister and Zach.
I was completely swept away into this magical story! The plotline, the writing and the mystery surrounding Alexander and Liam and even Caleb captured my attention completely from beginning to end. While it had some parts that were a bit scary, it wasn't anything over the top and I enjoyed it all thoroughly. Highly recommendable!
