Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance
Release Date: October 17, 2016

Blurb

Left at the altar. Dumped. Abandoned. Jilted.

That only happened in books. Fictional disasters like the kind I wrote. It wasn’t supposed to happen to me, Sam Stone. My life was supposed to be orderly. Organized. Perfect.

But I had no control over my fiancé’s decision to leave me.

What better place to be alone while nursing my broken heart than in paradise, right? Two weeks of sandy beaches and tranquil waters to quietly rethink my life.

That's what I thought anyway—until Drew Mariano came along and shook everything up. He shook me up.

He made me forget myself. And that was good.

He made me want to take chances. And that was hard.

He made me feel high on life. And that was amazing.

But I was afraid…the higher I got…

the harder

I was going

to fall…

When we signed up for this tour, we didn't have much information, other than a Boy Meets Girl Boy banner that really drew up our attention. Once I got the book on my kindle, I thought the cover was absolutely gorgeous and once I started getting into the story, I fell in love with both Drew and Sam.

Sam was left at the altar by his fiancé and while he's saddened, he quickly realizes perhaps Glenn wasn't that mistaken about leaving him, especially once he starts getting to know Drew.

After a not so good first impression due to Drew's prickly nature, Sam and Drew get a second chance at starting over. They hit it off and Drew manages to pull Sam out of his shell, making him do things he never imagined. Friendship evolves into something more, deeper and more meaningful than either of them expected or planned on, but there are a lot of things that might still get in the way of their HEA.

I loved Sam and Drew. They were flawed, complex characters, each of them with little idiosyncrasies that made them realistic and lovable and that also made me want to strangle them a few times over the course of the book! Hahahaha!

They had amazing chemistry and while their relationship moved at lightning speed, this was one of the few instances in which I found insta-love to be believable.

Overall, the book is fantastically written, fast-paced, filled with emotion and passion and it left me with a huge smile on my face, even if at the same time, I wanted more of Drew and Sam. Beth Michele's debut MM novel is more than I could've hoped for and I'm very eager to read more of this author in the future.

Rating: 5 Stars!!!
