On a drunken dare, free-spirited Cody and tightly-controlled Julian end up married in Vegas. While Julian's first instinct is to get a quick divorce, his career in Politics makes that a very bad idea. The last thing he needs during a reelection is a scandal surrounding a ridiculous mocking of the sanctity of marriage. So with very few options, Julian decides this marriage may not be all that bad after all. Instead of a divorce, Julian proposes they give it a try. After all, they may be able to make this marriage work as long as they can agree on a few rules.
While this is not a totally new idea it is definitely a different spin on the whole "waking up married in Vegas". I liked this unique take on it, basically giving the marriage thing a real go. They are going into everything with open eyes and the way they've talked they know they have quite a bit in common and they get along well.
Their time in the beginning of the marriage isn't all unicorns and rainbows. Cody went from being the laid back and carefree to being distant and closed off. It is hard on Julian because he's very committed to the marriage and sincerely wants things to work. He doesn't know what's going on with Cody and it troubles him.
Together Cody and Julian will need to let themselves open up and trust the other man. They both give each other strength in the ways they need. They are sweet together and I definitely wanted them to have that happily ever after I think they deserve.

Summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts, provide Jacob with inspiration for his fiction. The abundance of barely clothed man flesh and daily debauchery stimulates his personal muse.
When he isn’t stroking the keyboard, Jacob spends time with his daughter. They both represent a bright blue blip in an otherwise predominantly red swath in south Texas.
