After being diagnosed with cancer, Dane finally agrees to marry his longtime boyfriend, Spencer. When Spencer leaves him at the altar, one of his best friends, Gideon, steps in and offers to marry Dane, so he'll have insurance coverage and can get the chemotherapy he needs to survive. Will the sham of a marriage lead to true love or divorce court? 

I'll begin by saying I didn't read the previous books in the series, and I really think this should be read as a series. I could keep up with what was happening, and the story eventually focused enough on the main characters to let me get to know them, but there was a familiarity between this group of friends that made me feel like somewhat of an outsider. Almost like they were speaking a secret language. 

It took me a while to get into this book, probably almost the half-way point before I connected with the characters and the book finally grabbed me and pulled me into Gideon and Dane's story. Once I got past this point, it was an enjoyable read. It's paced well and I thought the author handled Dane's illness and treatment  realistically and with dignity. Neither of these characters were all that likable at first, but by the end, I was rooting for a happy ending. This is a story filled with close-knit friendships, heartbreak, sweetness, love and some hot sexy times. Recommendable!
