Perfect, happy, “Jonah the Savior”, that’s how most people see Jonah Taylor. What they don’t always see is how incredibly overwhelmed he is with his new business or how lonely he is. When a painfully shy man enters his wellness center, all Jonah wants to do is help break him out of his shell. The problem is, the attraction he feels to the nervous, timid man is undeniable.

Cameron Vaughn has let most of his life be decided for him. A traumatic event from his past has caused him to doubt every decision he makes. When he’s forced into a new, anxiety-ridden situation, his first instinct is to run. So, what is it about the owner of the wellness center that has him questioning everything he’s ever been told?

Can one man convince the other he’s worth saving? Can the other realize he’s strong enough to save himself? Together, can they prove that what they’ve found is worth holding on to?

EXCERPT

Gabe greeted Jonah’s family first, unabashedly eyeing the men as they entered the building. “Hmm…a parade of Taylor testosterone. Hello there, boys.” Each of the men took Gabe’s ogling in stride, having met him twice, and said their hellos as they passed the front desk.

“Hey, little brother,” Zach said in his usual, larger-than-life voice, as he crossed the room. He was followed by Jonah’s dad, Micah, Elijah, and Savannah’s husband, Tom, all of which were as tall as Jonah’s six feet or taller.

They each approached Jonah, wrapping him in tight hugs and hard slaps on the back. Jonah turned to Cameron and couldn’t help but notice he’d taken a couple of steps back.

“Hi.” Jonah’s dad wasted no time, outstretching his hand to Cameron, a huge, friendly grin on his face. “You must be one of Jonah’s clients. I’m Will, Jonah’s dad, and the person he gets his good looks from.”

Jonah was surprised to see a small smile on Cameron’s face. “Cameron,” he said in response. One by one, they all introduced themselves to Cameron with strong handshakes.

Micah faced Jonah, arms crossed over his chest, and Jonah already knew what was coming next. He loved his brother, he really did, but man, the guy was interested in the most boring things. No doubt he was about to ask Jonah—

“So, how’s this place doing?” And there it is. “Your numbers looking okay? You know, I can take a look at your spreadsheets before I leave.” Jonah sighed and inwardly groaned. Micah was the spitting image of their father. Dark hair, bright blue eyes, and the Taylor smile all the siblings had, but that’s where the similarities stopped. Where their dad was laid back and go-with-the-flow, Micah came out of the womb with a business suit on and portfolio in hand. Maybe the guy could use someone like Red in his life.

“It’s good, Micah. I have it all under control,” Jonah responded with the lie, trying to ignore Zach as he made stupid faces behind Micah, while Elijah laid his head on Zach’s shoulder and pretended to fall asleep. It was the running joke in the family that Micah’s interests were anything but exciting to the rest of them. Jonah smirked as his eyes shifted to his brothers behind Micah. Without even looking back, Micah reached behind and hit Zach in the stomach with a resounding ompf from Zach.

“Assholes,” Micah grumbled, but they knew it was all in good fun. The Taylors were thick as thieves, even with their differences. “You sure?” he asked Jonah, bringing the conversation back to business. “I don’t mind taking a look.”

“Um…actually…” All eyes landed on Cameron, but none with the shock Jonah knew was on his face, and not surprisingly, on Cameron’s. “I…” Cameron cleared his throat, “I told Jonah I’d take a look while you guys work upstairs.” He looked at Jonah nervously, like he was hoping he hadn’t said the wrong thing.

Without missing a beat, Jonah confirmed, “Yeah, Cameron offered to help with that.” He smiled warmly and watched as relief flooded Cameron’s face.

I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.

I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!

When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.
