Synopsis

Finally working for a man he can trust has given Bill a new purpose. His boss, Christopher Manos, commands respect and absolute loyalty, and Bill has proven himself worthy of a seat at Christopher’s table. Becoming best friends with Christopher’s husband, Snow, has further proven his allegiance and cements a place for him in the Manos family. When Snow’s life is in danger, Christopher places his full trust in Bill to destroy anything and anyone that poses a threat to his husband. But hunting and wiping out the enemy for the safety of everyone Bill cares about means partnering with the one person he has vowed to never see again.

Mace wears a mask of vain cockiness and uses his model good looks to his full advantage. Known to many as Without a Trace Mace, he’s a deadly assassin well known for wiping out whole families and getting away without a trace. With a dangerous past and an unknown future, Mace uses his veil of conceit to keep others at a distance, rarely trusting anyone. When his boss, Black--the one man he trusts above all others—gives him his next assignment, he learns his newest partner is none other than Bill, the man he’d do anything to avoid.

With the safety of the Manos family on the line at the hands of a brilliant maniac, Bill and Mace begrudgingly put their differences aside to ensure Snow, and his loved ones, are protected from harm.  With their lives in grave danger and the clock ticking towards zero hour, they navigate deathly perilous situations and uncertain outcomes, hoping they survive long enough to keep the Manos family safe.

Bill and Mace’s traitorous hearts draw them closer together no matter how hard they fight the inevitable. With the lives of their loved ones hanging in the balance, they find themselves in the middle of a dangerous dance. But when the music stops, will they both be left standing?

“Billy Boy!” Mace said loudly with a clap, making Snow jump.
“Well, if it isn’t fuck face Mace.” Watching Mace’s smile fall and morph into anger made my entire week. If I was going to find any joy in this job, it was going to be repeatedly knocking that pretty boy off his self-made pedestal.
“Let’s put the pissing contest off for a later date.” Black’s gravelly, booming voice was powerful enough to make you snap to attention. But I couldn’t help myself. I shot Mace a wink and joined Snow when he sat on the couch.
“I’ll rip those eyes from your head while you sleep, fucker,” Mace whispered so only Snow and I could hear. I knew Snow was about to go rabid, so I beat him to it.
“You assume I sleep.”

Mace wanted to say something else, but when Christopher slapped a folder on the coffee table between us, it was all business.

5 Stars!

A Dangerous Dance is book 3 in the Haven Hart series and it can be read as a standalone. I suggest reading the series in order, though, as we meet Billy and Mace in the previous books and have them working together before. Plus, they're amazing books and you'll be missing out otherwise.

This is an enemies-to-lovers story. Billy and Mace don't particularly like each other all that much when it starts and are forced to work together (again) by their bosses, this time to take out a guy who's after Snow. Sparks fly and soon they give in to their attraction and working together finally morphs into grudging and then well-earned respect between them and more. However, different as they are, could they make it work in the long run?

I am truly enjoying this 'verse. Ms. King is doing an outstanding job weaving intriguing storylines with fascinating characters, her writing is an enticing blend of darkness and violence with sweetness and scorching chemistry and I can't get enough of it.

Billy and Mace are both flawed and have gone through a lot of things, neither is happy to be working together again, yet they have no choice in the matter. I really liked how natural the progression from enemies to tentative allies to lovers was. Of course, it helped that you could practically see the electricity whenever they were close by and that they were hot, hot, HOT together, however, it went further than that, I just loved that they found some common ground and knew they could trust each other, especially when their lives and Snow's were on the line.

I really like that we got to see both teams in action again. Black is intriguing and I can't wait to see what Davidson King has in store for him and Quill and of course, catch up with all the other characters we've been introduced to already.

Overall, a fabulous continuation to the series, one I have no trouble recommending along with the previous installments.

4 Stars!

A true Enemies to lovers story.

Both Bill and Mace must work together to eliminate the threat to Snow and the Manos family. However, when neither man can actually stand the other, being paired up on such an important mission can prove tricky. What starts out as a partnership from Hell though may just turn into something neither Bill nor Mace could’ve ever thought. Of course, that’s if they can survive working together.

This was a very entertaining story that had me anxiously waiting to find out how it would finally end. It was both fast-paced action and an emotional journey. Sometimes a bit dark and violent and at other times sexy and sweet.

This was my first book in this series, so coming in I was not at all familiar with the characters or their backstory, however, I was able to fully understand their world from the information that was provided. This could be read as a stand-alone but I wish that I had read the previous two books anyway. I would love to know more about some of the secondary characters we meet.

Overall, I’d recommend A Dangerous Dance.

5 stars

I loved this book!! This author writes great, well-written stories, that are packed with suspense, sexual tension, and even sweetness. I loved the first chapter of this book, and how it shows Bill and Snow (from book one) had grown so close. It was nice to see them connecting and it humanized Bill for the rest of the book when we see him acting a lot more ruthless.

Just like the other books in this series, the plot was suspenseful and kept me anxiously reading and wanting more. It was exciting and entertaining with all of the snarky banter between Mace and Bill. Also...I just want to say, HOLY HATE SEX. Mace and Bill had so much sexual tension and when they finally came together it was HOT. It was raw and gritty and aggressive and perfect for both of their characters.

All of the books in this series have been great and I cannot wait to get more from this author and I am excited to get Black and Quill's story next!
