Blurb

Flight paramedic Rhys Foster is hooked on adrenaline. By day it’s blood and guts, by night it’s the thrill of the club. With a different face in his bed most nights, he doesn’t have time to be lonely…right?

Entertainer Jevon Campbell is a play therapist like no other—dancer, magician, acrobat, he brings it all to his global mission to help children in need laugh again. He’s on a rare home visit when he encounters enigmatic Rhys in a London bar.

Their connection is instant, but Rhys fast realises Jevon’s easy confidence doesn’t stretch as far as the bedroom. He has no idea how mesmerising he is—how beautiful—and Rhys resolves to show him.

They grow closer, but time isn’t on their side. Rhys seems unable to articulate how he feels, and with Jevon’s imminent departure from the UK hanging over them, their separate commitments could tear them apart forever.

As the days slip by, Rhys must learn to believe he’s worth the happiness Jevon is offering.

4.25 Stars!

I enjoyed this third book in the Skins series. While I think that the first two books are easily read as standalones, I think it may be better to have read them first for Believe. Don't get me wrong, you could read it as a standalone, but Rhys has some history with Angelo and Dylan from Dream (book 1) and is Harry's (Whisper, book 2) brother.

Rhys is a flight paramedic who gets his thrills outside of work at the club, but the club isn't working for him lately. He leaves the club one night and goes to get a drink at a bar, only to meet Jevon, who is testing the waters at a gay bar. Rhys offers to just hang out with him, no expectations. They have a connection that is amazing and undeniable, but neither man is in a position to have more than that one night. When they run into each other again by pure luck, they finally take a chance.

Rhys is a tough guy to get close to. He tends to avoid talking to his brother, Harry, and the only person that he seems to really call a friend is Dylan. He sees Jevon and finds him stunning, but he doesn't think that he deserves to be happy or to have someone like Jevon. Watching him open up to the people around him was wonderful, as was the fact that Jevon brought out a new side of Rhys. I was so happy when Rhys finally took the chance for happiness in front of him.

Jevon has a great family. I was amazed by his personal strength. I don't think I could do the job he has even for a day. His outlook on life is great and while the things he sees and experiences at his job threaten to break him, he continues to help the children as best he can every day. I loved these two together and enjoyed watching all the earlier characters get together and become closer as friends and family.
