Audiobooks Review: Texas Fall and Texas Wedding (Texas Series #6 & 7) by RJ Scott

Texas Fall
Texas Series, Book 6

Narrated by: Sean Crisden
Length: 4 hrs and 39 mins
Unabridged Audiobook

Jack is focusing on building an equine therapy school for children with special needs and works hard alongside his normal horse training and breeding program. He and Riley have settled into a softer, quieter kind of family life, but that doesn't stop them using the barn with the door to the fullest!

But the lull comes before the storm.

Riley and his new assistant travel to Laredo, and across the border into Nuevo Laredo as part of an exploratory team and things very quickly go to hell. Riley is caught in some serious Cartel problems and suddenly everything Jack holds dear is threatened.

Texas Fall is the sixth book in RJ Scott’s Texas series. This series must be read/listened to in order as it follows the lives of Riley and Jack Campbell-Hayes and their family. I’ve read and listened to this series many times and every time I fall in love with it more.

Nothing is simple in the lives of Jack and Riley and in this episode of their lives, they see real struggles. Riley’s trip to Mexico and his kidnapping has lasting effects. Jack struggles to pull Riley out of his own head and help him work through his issues. I love each of these books and experiencing the family that the men have built.

All the men on the ranch are doing well and their relationships are going strong. In this installment, Darren is added to the mix. He’s cleaned up all the messes from his brother and is ready to start a life with Vaughan, wherever that will be. Jack’s dreams of his riding school are getting closer to fruition. The kids are growing and enjoyable. And, Eden and Sean are involved in this story. I love how much Eden has grown since the first book!

Sean Crisden is a fantastic narrator that brings this story to life! Even when I read this story, I hear his voice narrating it in my head because it’s perfection! He is able to give each character distinctive voices and is consistent with the use. He has a pleasant voice, keeps a great pace and is clear and concise is his narration. He conveys emotions through the characters and lets the focus be on the story and characters, not the narration.

I love that even though each book is a new addition to the soap opera, that the love remains constant. In this one there is drama for Jack and Riley, but the two men’s love remains strong. If you’ve never listened to this audio, or read this series, I’d highly recommend it! Though I love both the books and audiobooks, my preference is the audiobook. It’s easy to fall into the story, shut out the outside world and just be part of the Campbell-Hayes family.

Overall: 5+++++++

Performance: 5+++++++

Story: 5+++++++

Texas Wedding
Texas Series, Book 7

Narrated by: Sean Crisden
Series: Texas (Scott), Book 7
Length: 5 hrs and 59 mins
Unabridged Audiobook

Sometimes Riley and Jack have to be the ones to fight other people's battles and stand up for what is right.

With the life-changing prospect of a yes vote from SCOTUS on the issue of same-sex marriage, Riley and Jack realize they have decisions to make. Add in some distressing family news and the very real possibility that old secrets may resurface, and this audiobook in the Texas series pulls together as many threads as the boys can manage to handle.

But through all the ups and the downs, children, family events, laughter, and tears, there is nothing as special as the forever love between these t
wo men.

Texas Wedding is the seventh book in RJ Scott’s Texas series. As I've stated before, this series must be read/listened to in order as it follows the lives of Riley and Jack Campbell-Hayes and their family. I’ve read and listened to this series many times and every time I fall in love with it more.

In this episode of the Jack and Riley soap opera, the US Supreme Court ruled on same-sex marriage and Jack decided they needed to be more outspoken. Another ceremony is organized, but this time they were going to open their lives and let people see that their lives are no different than a hetero couple.

All the men on the ranch are doing well and their relationships are going strong. Robby upholds his promise to Eli and as soon as marriage is legal in Texas, he’s on his knee proposing and ready to run off to marry. Darren and Vaughan find out that a puppy is not for them. Eden and Sean, Beth and Josh have exciting news, as does Lisa and her new husband. This book continues to show the importance of family. At the end, Kyle comes into the picture. His story can be found in a spin-off series that takes place on the Double D.

Sean Crisden is a fantastic narrator that brings this story to life! Even when I read this story, I hear his voice narrating it in my head because it’s perfection! He is able to give each character distinctive voices and is consistent with the use. He has an easy-to-listen-to tone, keeps a great pace and is clear and concise is his narration. He conveys emotions through the characters and lets the focus be on the story and characters, not the narration.

I love that even though each book is a new addition to the soap opera, that the love remains constant. If you’ve never listened to this audio, or read this series, I’d highly recommend it! Though I love both the books and audiobooks, my preference is the audiobook. It’s easy to fall into the story, shut out the outside world and just be part of the Campbell-Hayes family.
