Life—and love—doesn’t follow a script.
Struggling actor Oswell Outterridge thinks he’s hit the jackpot when he’s chosen to play a scene opposite his idol, Kane Teague, in a superhero movie. However, things take an unexpected turn when the slime he accidentally ingests gives him telekinetic powers. Then Kane asks him out, against all expectation, and it seems that life couldn’t get any better—aside from the little matter of keeping his identity secret from his celebrity boyfriend.
Oswell goes from a nobody with little social life and few prospects for the future to dating the man of his dreams and using his superhuman abilities to defend innocents. Everything is perfect, and it seems he’s finally achieved a happily ever after worthy of the silver screen. But when a supervillain arrives, determined to defeat Oswell and win Kane’s affections, everything falls apart. In the ensuing conflict, Kane gets caught in the crossfire, and Oswell faces his toughest fight yet. Can he remain the hero he’s always imagined himself, or will a dark desire for vengeance change him forever?
4 Stars!
All I have to say is suspend your disbelief! If you can just let go of reality for a moment, Super For You, Bad for Me is a fun story that will have you laughing out loud more than once. It’s an easy read, full of humor, action, romance and a smidgen of angst. Lovable characters I wouldn’t mind seeing again and a cute and unique ending.
So this is the story of Oswell Outterridge, a struggling actor in London. He’s currently working as an extra on a Superhero movie starring the super hot Kane Teague. When he gets picked for a special yet small scene he never expects his life to be changed by a blast of green slime.
Now Oswell is actually dating Kane, something he never imagined could happen. But trying to get a grip on his newly inherited superpowers and what he should do with them is something he isn’t sure he should share with Kane. If only Kane didn’t detest dishonesty so much.
I found Oswell quite cute. He was funny and self-deprecating in a charming way. He wasn’t perfect and that made it that much better. Especially when he realized his new found powers didn’t include combat training or any special forces type knowledge.
Kane was sweet (sometimes too sweet) and definitely didn’t give off the megastar celebrity vibe. He’s down to earth and treats Oswell very well. They had good chemistry and I thought they made a cute couple. Kane did piss me off at one point in the story but I’m pretty sure he paid for it in the end so I forgave him, lol.
Overall, I thought this was a fun, cute story and the writing, while sometimes slightly too sweet, was really good. The story had a good flow and it was easy to get drawn into. I’d definitely recommend.
