Can college roommates go from friends to lovers?
Kyle: I’m confident that with hard work, my position as point guard can carry me from rural Indiana to the NBA. I also know I’m attracted to guys, but admitting it might disappoint my father, who is all I have in this world. I have big dreams, so I’ll stay in the closet. As long as my life remains scandal-free, I have a shot.
Micah: My large family can’t spare the money to help with my education, but that won’t stop me from studying medicine. I needed to get out of the house I was sharing with my ex before I went insane. Luckily, I heard about a guy looking for a roommate. Living with a straight jock won’t be easy, but it’s a chance I’m willing to take.

4 Stars

College is a tough time, but for a closeted athlete with NBA hopes, it can be a nightmare, especially when you end up rooming with an out and proud medical student whom you find yourself attracted to.

I absolutely loved Kyle and Micah, both individually and as a couple. They had a chemistry that was out of this world and I loved watching their slow progression from friends to lovers. Even as lovers they remained best friends, who could confide in and count on one another. They were different, but had a lot in common, too, and I just really enjoyed their story.

While I loved their story, there were things that didn't work for me. There was a situation where Kyle is accused of something and Micah helps prove his innocence, but when they go to face his accusers, it's not done on page, you're just told the results, so it all felt very anticlimactic.

This was an easy and enjoyable read. There was some sadness and heartache, but the majority of the story was sweet and oh so hot! The characters were well developed and likable, but the ending was a bit abrupt and left, in my opinion, some unresolved issues, so maybe this won't be the last we see of Micah and Kyle? While not my favorite Skylar Cates read, still definitely recommendable!
