How many times have you wished you could go back and do things differently? Can you pinpoint an exact moment you wish you could change? How would your life be if you'd only reacted differently to what happened? These are questions Snake and Victoria have asked a million times over the past 30+ years, but they can't change their past or the mistakes that they've made.
They met in the summer of 1985. 17-year-old Victoria was in her senior year of high school. Snake was 20 and a Prospect for the Cobras MC. Falling in love was easy but, unfortunately, their lifestyles weren't easy hurdles to clear. Between betrayals and pregnancies that tear them apart, abuse and secrets that threaten to destroy them, both are trapped in lives they never wanted but don't know how to change.
Then one day a chance meeting has them suddenly thrown back in each other's lives. But with so much time and way too many mistakes, can they finally get it right? Or will the biggest secret Victoria hides destroy everyone around them?
I truly was surprised by this book. I hadn't read any of the books in this series so I wasn't sure what to expect, I found I couldn't put it down. It was short and fast-paced but it spanned decades and packed quite a punch. I actually found myself crying at one point and thinking I can't believe this is getting to me so much.
So do I recommend it? I totally do. Obviously, if you're a fan of the series of MC books this spins off of and know the characters, this is definitely a must read. If you are like me and don't know the characters or their stories, you'll probably end up wanting to read them. But in the end, I don't think it will take away from your enjoyment of Snake and Victoria's story.
