Perfect Imperfections

Written by: Cardeno C.
Word Count: 65,193

Audiobook narrated by: Charlie David
Length: 7 hrs and 15 mins

Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.
Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.

Perfect Imperfections is one of my favorite reads of 2015 and the audiobook managed to surpass every expectation I had of it!

Jeremy is rockstar royalty, and he's straight or so he thinks. Despite his upbringing or perhaps because of it, he's very innocent in some of his beliefs. Reg is the most patient man in the universe, I swear, he gives Jeremy all he needs in terms of closeness and intimacy as he waits for him to realize that he might not be as straight as he's always thought.

Charlie David did a fantastic job at making Jeremy and Reg come to life and more than made justice to a story that was already fantastic on its own right. He imprinted a lot of emotion into the narration, managing to show us all the elements that made this story so great. He conveyed Jeremy and Reg's growing intimacy, their feelings, Jeremy's innocence and Reg's patience and love; and damn if he somehow made the sizzling chemistry between Jeremy and Reg and the hotness of them together burn even hotter.

All the different nuances in his voice, and the different voices he made for the different characters, how differently he narrated the funnier parts from the very sexy scenes to the more serious, emotion-filled scenes, that is what separates this audiobook from the rest. Definitely my favorite of all the audiobooks I've listened so far!

Strange Bedfellows

Written by: Cardeno C.
Word Count: 57,995

Audiobook narrated by: Ron Herczig
Length: 6 hrs and 48 mins

Can the billionaire son of a Democratic president build a family with the congressman son of a Republican senator? Forget politics, love makes strange bedfellows.

As the sole offspring of the Democratic United States president and his political operative wife, Trevor Moga was raised in an environment driven by the election cycle. During childhood, he fantasized about living in a made-for-television family, and as an adult, he rejected all things politics and built a highly successful career as far from his parents as possible.

Newly elected congressman Ford Hollingsworth is Republican royalty. The grandson of a revered governor and son of a respected senator, he was bred to value faith, family, and the goal of seeing a Hollingsworth in the White House.

When Trevor and Ford meet, sparks fly and a strong friendship is formed. But can the billionaire son of a Democratic president build a family with the congressman son of a Republican senator? Forget politics, love makes strange bedfellows.

From beginning to end... Wow, just wow! I love all of Cardeno C. stories, but Strange Bedfellows is one of my favorites.

Ford Hollingsworth is a republican congressman, deep in the closet, idealist, religious, with great values. He has his life all planned out, even if he is aware that if he follows the path he's chosen, it will be a solitary one. Ford has no clue that the man that picked him up at a bar would turn his world upside down when they met. He has no clue Trevor actually knew who he was before that encounter. He has no idea that Trevor would be just what he needed, even if he embodied all he'd feared before and all he'd ever wanted. Once he realizes all this though, it was absolutely amazing to see him embrace the idea the way he did.

Trevor is the billionaire son of the democratic President of the United States. He absolutely hates anything politics related, and with good reason, considering how ruthless both his parents are. Still, once he meets and falls for Ford, he starts seeing things differently, even his own parents' relationship.

Both Ford and Trevor are fantastic, well-rounded, tridimensional characters. They have so many layers, and they are so different, and yet, they find common ground in their love for each other. Their chemistry is off the charts, the love scenes are damn hot and the storyline is engaging and character driven.

I loved every second of this book, there's some angst, but there's also love and passion and characters that you can't not root for. Definitely a story to be savored over and over again.
