4 Stars!

Talk about starting a book with a bang! Both the storm that capsizes both Scott's yacht and the fishing boat Cal worked on and the men's reactions to it were very realistically depicted. Same with everything that went through while they were on the rafts fighting for their survival.

I liked both Scott and Cal. Scott was a pampered executive and truly, if he hadn't been with Cal during that time, he probably wouldn't have survived. Then we have Cal, who mainly communicated through grunts and was aptly described by Scott as a grumpy bear. They were complete opposites in everything, from their age, seeing as Cal was 50 and Scott was younger, to their looks, with Cal being bald and big and Scott being a pretty boy, to their outlooks in life, with Cal being so introverted and a pessimist and Scott being so outgoing and optimistic most of the time. Turned out that Cal was just Scott's type, and well, Scott was anybody's type, so that worked well for them, and they quickly gave into their attraction. It was entertaining to see that Scott could read Cal so well, to the point that he could interpret Cal's grunts and know what he meant by them. They had good chemistry, and even if the rimming scene made me a bit queasy, all things considered, they fit well together, both sexually and by keeping each other in relatively good spirits and healthy while they were still on the lifeboat. And above all, they seemed to be just what the other was missing in their lives.

I didn't particularly care for Scott's parents, although I changed my mind after they helped Cal nearly at the end of the book.

Overall, while this was very different from other books by Ms. Michaels, it was still an enjoyable, fast read that I have no trouble recommending.
