SYNOPSIS:

Linc

A man who can’t visualize his future will always revert to his past. To where he came from and all the ways he failed. The murder and mayhem that changed his life and darkened his soul. The legacy of who he is will burn through his veins and ominously guide him to hell. A place where he pays not only for his sins but the sins of his father as well. A hustler by nature, a loner by choice, I am the spawn of Satan. I am Lincoln Brandt and I am the son of Cain.

Kelly

Reckless and rebellious, I’ve spent most of my life running away from one mistake only to chase another. At the end of my rope with nowhere left to turn, I’m about to make the biggest one of all. Face to face with the bastard who broke me, I lay it all on the line for him. My heart and my life. Heaven is overrated and the ride to Hell doesn’t have to be lonely. The stakes are high. The risk great. It’s do or die. Together we’ll ride. Forever we’ll burn.

5 Stars!

Loner is the final book in the Nomad series and Janine gave us the same type of emotional story I’ve come to count on when I pick up one of her books. Loner is a gut-wrenching and pulse pounding emotional ride of tragic loss and redemption. I expected no less from this final book. I knew it would be hard, I knew I’d cry and I knew I’d love it. Linc burrowed his way into my heart right alongside the three other men whose stories I devoured.
The Drifter
The Wanderer
The Roamer
and the man who brought them together, Wolf.

Loner begins with giving us an emotional look at Linc’s past and the nightmare he lived at the young age of 18. We learn what brought him to Satan Knights and how he fit into the group of Nomads Wolf brought in to save their dying Brooklyn Charter. We also get a firsthand glance into the mind of a man who straddles the edge of wanting to live as he struggles to come to terms with what the explosion did to him. His POV was intense and I felt completely enthralled in what he had to say. Frankly, Linc broke my heart. But I love him.

Kelly has grown up in the life. She’s been neglected and used by her mom time after time. She’s grown cynical and tired, a bit wild and in search for someone or something to truly live for. A person who loves her and who she can truly let down her shield in front of. A person with whom she feels safe and at peace. Linc knows from the moment he sees her she and he are alike.

With Linc and Kelly’s romance comes the final culmination of the battle raging between Yankovich and the men. Wow, it was intense, dark and we see a lot of evilness. I am still a bit raw from reading this story so it’s hard for me to really express what I want to say. Writing reviews for books I love actually seems harder than writing one for a book I disliked.

Overall, I highly recommend Loner along with the rest of the series. Great characters, explosive storylines and exceptional writing.
