Nicholas has only been given one duty to fulfill for his sisters wedding. He's to hire the harpist for the Wedding Breakfast, but he's completely forgotten to do this. With only a week before the big day, he must now scramble to try to find one, but he's having no luck. While Nicholas sits at a small cafe contemplating his options, he hears Fynn playing his guitar and singing. He approaches him and offers him the job. The two meet up later to work out the details and as the week goes on they grow closer.
I adored this story. Nicholas is a college student. He's kind of awkward and unsure of himself. He thinks he should be attracted to women and he's tried checking them out, but while he thinks they're pretty, he's not sexually attracted to them, but meeting and getting to know Fynn, confirms what Nicholas has suspected, he's gay. Fynn is an aspiring musician who lives with his aunt, while waiting tables and trying to get his music heard.
This was a sweet, funny coming of age story. Nicolas and Fynn are such sweet characters. The catastrophes that happen to try to destroy Nicholas' sister's wedding add a comedic element to the story, that had me laughing out loud. The story is well-written and although the romantic relationship between Fynn and Nicholas moves pretty fast, the story is written with so much detail that the time period feels longer and the relationship doesn't feel so instalove.
Funny, sweet, filled with likable characters and some steamy sex. Recommendable!
