Alisha

My story isn't a very conventional one. I met my man online, which isn't a shocking thing nowadays.

I sure didn't know that he would rescue me from hell.

I had been stuck in hell with no way out. Then Techy swooped in with guns blazing and took me out of there. A knight in shining leather.

I didn't expect to feel what I feel; that I would fall in love, that I would feel safe and protected.

I had never felt that before.

Until Techy.

Techy is a member of the Devil’s Souls MC, the most notorious MC in Texas. They love hard and fight harder. You mess with their family, hell is something you'd beg for.

Shit hits the fan when someone from my past comes to get what my dead father never gave back to him.

My name is Alisha and this is my story.

Techy

A man is after my woman.

He won’t be a man much longer.

He dares to try and take her from me?

Hell is something he'll beg for. Because nobody, and I mean nobody, looks in Alisha's direction in a way I don't like. If they do? They'll be eating their teeth.

If you threaten her? Death is an easy way out.

I will do whatever it takes to protect her.

This book has a HEA, with no cheating and a obsessed alpha. If you don’t like instalove this book isn’t for you.

3 Stars!

Techy is Book 2 of the Devils Soul MC. I read the first book, Torch, but didn't really connect with it. I wanted to give Techy a try, though, and see if maybe I could get into the series. While I enjoyed this installment more so than the first, I'm still not sure this series is for me.

Alisha has the life of nightmares with an abusive drug addicted father who keeps her mother high in order to pimp her out. Her rat infested trailer comes with a revolving door of scumbags that come over to get a piece of her mother and do drugs with her father. Alisha knows it is just a matter of time before her father, who beats her, turns his attention to her and begins using her as payment as well.

After secretly starting a face-time relationship with Jordan she finally has a little glimmer of good in her life. Jordan is the only person in the world who seems to care about her and while he's had tiny glimpses of her life, he has no idea what life is really like for her. Alisha fears that if he ever found out he'd be disgusted and run far away.

Jordan aka Techy to his brothers in the Devils Soul MC discovered Alisha online while researching potential victims of a human trafficking ring. Something about the young woman drew Techy to her and the two have spent the last two months face-timing each other. When something goes wrong and Alisha's father discovers they have been talking Techy is exposed to the depravity of her father as he listens to her being beaten. He vows then and there that he is on his way to save her. Which he does.

Now Alisha and Jordan are faced with a new relationship and things are not easy. Alisha will need to learn to navigate his world not to mention the world away from the dark and twisted life she grew up in. There are also the dangers that come from being part of the MC lifestyle but also the love, loyalty and passion. At the end of the day, they are all about their family.

Techy is definitely Alisha's Prince Charming and Knight on shiny chrome. He rescues her from her life and in turn from a future like her mother's. It is hard for Alisha to accept that it's real and that she can trust him, though, even as they begin to create a life together. This is some of the reasons I had difficulty with their relationship. It's sweet, yes, but realistic? Not so sure. It's all way too fast for me, instalove, really.

As for the characters, I liked Techy and liked reading his POV. He was definitely sweet with Alisha and showed a lot of care for what she was going through. He was all about protecting her and his club.

Alisha had me feeling sorry for her for what she went through and how she grew up but I didn't really care for her. Again, she just wasn't realistic to me. It was the same feeling I had with Kayla from book 1. I don't mind seeing women grow and evolve in the MC environment but I hate the immediate switching of their personalities.

Overall, I had difficulty getting completely engrossed in the story. I think there is great potential here it just needs to be fine-tuned a bit. There's the grit that I love in a MC book and there's the sweet that makes these men lovable, it just needs more balance and smoother transitions. I'll probably give this series one more shot before throwing in the towel. After all, 3rd time's a charm, right?
