Blurb

Imagines is the Latin plural for Imago, and the only thing better than one metamorphosis, is two.

Jack Brighton and Lawson Gale have been together for six months and are very much in love. Lawson’s work ensuring the survival of the Tillman Copper is demanding as ever, and Jack’s work with the regeneration of the bushfire-ravaged national park is just as hectic.

When Jack suggests they take a short trip, Lawson agrees. But then he is offered a two-week research position in tropical Queensland to help determine why the Ulysses butterfly is on the decline. Figuring they could combine work and pleasure, Jack and Lawson go on their first vacation together.

Working alongside renowned professor Piers Bonfils isn’t easy. But personal and professional differences aside, Lawson is offered a more permanent role in Queensland. Torn between his new life in Tasmania with Jack and a dying species of butterfly he feels compelled to save, Lawson has to decide where his fate lies.

But fate changes the rules. On a research expedition into the depths of the rainforest, suddenly it's not only the butterflies’ existence that hangs in the balance

A butterfly’s life cycle never changes. From larvae to imago, their course is plotted by design. Jack and Lawson need to determine where they stand, if they live through it. Because the only thing more incredible than one imago is two.

5 + Stars

It's been about 6 months since the fire that almost killed Lawson and Rosemary, as well as Jack, when he headed into the bushfire to rescue them. Jack and Lawson are still happy and so very much in love. Jack is about to take his two week vacation, so they have to decide where they'll go. The decision is made for them when Lawson gets a request to do some preliminary research concerning the Ulysses Butterfly at the conservatory in Cairns. Jack and Lawson head to the tropics for butterflies and a little fun in the sun.

Omg, Charlie and Travis have always come in just a smidge ahead of all of N.R. Walker's other characters for me, but, well, now I just don't know. I absolutely adore Jack and Lawson. I love that their relationship feels so easy and genuine. Their love is sweet and feels almost innocent, well, except for the beyond hot smoking hot sex. That's not so innocent! I love the banter between Jack and Lawson. It kept me smiling and chuckling throughout the story.

This story was well-written, and a quick and easy read. It's all Butterfly kisses, romance, love and hot sexy times, with just a hint of angst. Ms. Walker tried to give me a heart attack, but I know who I'm reading and I know that she's a firm believer in happily ever afters, so I sweated just a bit, but in the end, I walked away with happy tears shimmering in my eyes and feeling all the warm and fuzzies!! It's bittersweet to say goodbye to Jack and Lawson, and I'll miss them, but this story made me so happy! Highly recommended!

5 Stars!!!

This was just the perfect conclusion to the series (although there's more since now you can also get Red Dirt Heart Imago, which combines two of my favorite N.R. Walker couples ever!). If you haven't picked Imago up, I recommend reading that one first before starting Imagines. You'll be missing out on a fabulous read otherwise.

After 6 months, Lawson is still not sure if he's ready to move in with Jack and Rosemary, however, a trip to Queensland to check up on the Ulysses butterfly might put things into perspective for the two of them.

I adore Lawson and Jack, they're just perfect for one another. Jack is so patient and dreamy and completely understands that Lawson needs more time to accept things. And Lawson, well, he's amazing in all his bow-tied, clumsy and accident-prone glory. Let's just say that it's a very good thing that Jack doesn't let Lawson stray away from him often. ;) The love they feel for one another is so sweet and all-encompassing and the passion between them flares hot enough to start a conflagration! Damn, if N.R. doesn't know how to write sexy, loving scenes!

All in all, definitely a must-read for fans of the series and N.R. Walker!

Author Bio

N.R. Walker is an Australian author, who loves her genre of gay romance.

She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.

She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.

She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.

She’s been writing ever since…
