And then one phone call changes everything.
The men of All Cocks learn that death is just another part of life, a road everyone travels eventually. Choices are made, decisions that change their lives irrevocably. The chemistry between them was immediate and often entertaining. Dialogue and interaction was strong and suitable for the given situations. The plot was dynamic and had several secondary things happening in the background. There is a tragic twist, so be prepared if you are a more sensitive reader and/or crier. Some new characters were added on top of the entire All Cocks cast. There were a few conflicts that were managed maturely and in a timely manner. Predictability was low. The conclusion was solid and satisfying. Adam and Dean are given their HEA and many others also find additional happiness.

This is Book 7 in T.M. Smith's All Cocks Stories series. Listen, these books really need to be read in the appropriate order to really understand this story. The All Cocks series has a lot of characters, and they all make an appearance in this story. I've read and listened to the books in this series multiple times, and it's still a lot for me to keep up with everyone. I couldn't imagine the difficulty if you just decided to jump in with this one. And every story in this series is enjoyable and many will bring tears. An example of how these stories connect, Dean Anderson (MC#1) is the father of Dusty who works for All Cocks and Dusty's story was Book 6; Adam Chase (MC#2) is the Doctor of Beau who is partnered with Will, a former All Cocks employee and their story was Book 5. See where I'm going with this?
I knew a little about both of these MCs going into this book and was really looking forward to their story! They're both likable, sweet guys that you want to see find happiness. Nothing in this story changed that feeling. I learned a little more about them and saw how much they cared for each other and all of their friends and family. I loved seeing how their life was coming together, and how their relationship built so quickly. These are two men who both were married previously, they're adults that have no interest in playing games. They know what they want in life and are willing to work to get it. All of these characteristics are some of my favorite reasons to read books with "older" MCs.
What I was a little disappointed about was that this felt less like their love story and more a collection of stories about everyone involved in the All Cocks family. They were overshadowed by the everyday lives of everyone else, and then even more so by the tragedy that was written. I felt like I knew what was going to happen in this tragedy, and I hoped I was wrong, but sadly I was not. And yes, regardless of how I felt about this tragedy, I still cried when it happened because the author can wring a tear from a turnip with her writing, but I still didn't like it!
In the end, Dean and Adam found happiness, a house big enough for their boys and close to their new family. The many other characters in this story found happiness in their situations, except for the poor people affected by the tragedy, of course. This was another great addition to the All Cock Stories and we have plenty to look forward to!
