This is the story of how Raze became President of the Heavens Rejects MC and what led to him becoming the man he is. This isn't a pretty story. Mikey had been a man stuck in a life he didn't want. Being the only son of a depraved and corrupt Motorcycle Club President is an albatross for Mikey. He hates what his father has done to this club and where it's taken them. He silently waits for his chance to get his mother and sister away safely.
When his father screws up and puts the entire club on the chopping block, Mikey is thrown into the role of club President. Now he will have to take up the gavel and get him and his club brothers out of the mess they now find themselves in. With hopes of turning his club around and restoring it back to what it was always meant to be, Mikey has to make some very risky decisions he never wanted to make.
This is what I like when I read these types of books. Lots of action and club business. (I wasn't particularly thrilled with the theme of human trafficking but unfortunately that sometimes goes along with this particular genre), but we also get men who are the ultimate antihero. Strong, loyal, passionate and possessing an inherent need to protect those they love. That's why I love them. Mickey is definitely that but he's more. He has heart, he has dreams and he wants his club, his family and their town to flourish.
Sins of the Father was well written and very entertaining and I personally love the idea of seeing how a man like Raze came to be. I'm a fan of this series and I hope there are more books to follow. I'm curious about many more of these men and who they ultimately are.
I definitely recommend this one!

Dani has escaped from a Living Hell in Ohio. Now even far away in Upland, California, she is tortured by the memories that haunt her as she tries to survive. When her roommate Ricca gets her a job at a local bar Red Rockets, she meets Hero, the VP of the Heavens Rejects MC. Before the two are able to act on their attraction though they have to go their separate ways.
The Heavens Rejects MC has just been hit with a devastating blow with the death of a beloved club brother. Hero is determined to find the ones responsible for his gruesome murder and making them pay. When another hit on the club leads to the discovery of Dani right in the middle of things, Hero realizes Dani might be there to destroy his club.
I hate to say it but I really had problems with this book. I think it was well written but I just did not like the romance element. As for the club action, that, I loved. I loved the characters in the club and I even liked the MC's individually. Together though, it was like watching a train wreck.
Hero was an a**hole to Dani (most bikers are) he cursed at her, threatened her, man-handled her, humiliated her and let her be put in danger over and over again. Yet Dani still went back to him time and time again with barely a demand for an apology. The man did not trust her at all, was quick to accuse her of misdeeds and call her a traitorous b*tch. He talked of killing her on more than one occasion but as soon as he was ready to have her, he demands she is his and only his. Now this actually made me sick, not even just him because let's face it. The man is a member of an MC, he's not Prince Charming, but the fact that Dani excused this behavior is what made me so angry.
This woman had a backbone with everyone but Hero. Yeah, she's smart but she didn't hold people responsible for their consequences and in my mind. that just sets a bad precedent. This man is going to walk all over her for the foreseeable future and she's going to allow it. This is not cool to me and I was not a fan of it.
With that said, when Hero wasn't being a jerk he was cool and I love Raze. I can't wait to see more of the brothers that's for sure. I just hope the next romance is better. Overall, though, I will recommend Heaven Sent, just be prepared that it certainly isn't a fairytale romance.

Darcy Kyle’s life has revolved around two things since she was told her husband had died: her 3 children and exposing the truth about her husband's death. She knows the story his MC fed her was a lie and she needs to know the truth so she can exact justice on whoever is responsible. Going up against her husband's club isn't exactly something she relishes doing, but she knows it's because of them that her children no longer have a father. They have the answers she needs and some way or another she's going to get them, even if she has to go to the one member who makes her skin crawl. But when she's faced with the fact that she may have never really known the man her husband really was, its Raze, the President of the MC, who she'll have to learn to trust. There are too many secrets and lies and it becomes harder and harder to put together the pieces in hopes of understanding why she had to lose her husband when she did.
Raze is President of the Heaven’s Rejects MC. His focus in life is all about but protecting the people he cares about. Since his brother’s death and his wife’s betrayal he can't help but feel guilty that he let everyone down. So when the wife of his fallen brother, Darcy Kyle starts delving into club business, he vows he will stop her so she doesn't end up like her husband. However, along the way he begins to realize he thinks of her as more than just Brent's widow and it's becoming increasingly harder to stay away from her. When she becomes bound and determined to help the club with getting retribution he finds himself drawn to her even more fiercely and has to wonder about his loyalty to his brother’s memory.
Are there too many lies between Raze and Darcy? And what will happen when they finally get justice for Brent's death? Can a woman who blames the MC for destroying her family accept that the MC might actually be the thing that saves it?
I really enjoyed Angels and Ashes, a lot more than book 1 actually. We get to see Darcy struggling with the death of her husband and raising 3 children without him, as well as trying to dig into her husband's death even if it means pissing off the club. I loved that she was fierce, but it came from the fact that she loved her husband so much. She couldn't let it go, his death was obviously caused by something the club was involved in which meant she could blame them.
Raze wasn't having it though. He believed in the club and the life and it was important that he get Darcy to see they weren't her enemies. He would protect her and her kids because he considered them family. We get to see a bit of how Brent loved her through his eyes and in turn we get to see how he feels about her, too.
I liked reading about this club and how they worked and I'll be honest, it was nice to not have to spend too much time reading about club whores or hanger ons. While there was still that bit of misogyny when it came to the way the men dealt with the women, it was a bit downplayed and I liked that. I didn't have as much of an urge to knock the men out.
I'll definitely be looking for the next book in the series and would recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a good biker book.
