While watching over the last of the rescued children Mikhail attempts to find out who the quiet girl really is. When Sirens appear and attack Eliza, he's shocked at her bravery and the song she sends out. With the appearance of a Dragon, Mikhail unexpectedly discovers he is the mate of the Dragon Shifter Jin. Mikhail and Jin with the help of Sam and Bob travel to return Eliza to her father, the Dragon King and are thrown into solving the conspiracy to gain the throne.
Again, I had a lot of fun reading about Sam and his life as a Supernatural Private Investigator. This time however we get to see Mikhail falling for a Dragon Shifter, who claims Mikhail is his mate. I really like Mikhail and this allowed us to get to see him in a better light. As for Jin, I loved him from the very start. I'm glad there wasn't a ton of angst involved in the two getting together.
Sam and Bob helping to investigate who accused Jin of the plot to kill Eliza was fun because I love their banter. The way they bicker is cute and you can tell it's just part of their relationship. I like them together and will definitely be looking for more from this series.

The Case of the Sinful Santa
In all honesty, I found myself a bit disappointed in the 4th story in this series. As I was reading it, I kept wondering why it didn't feel like the rest of the stories. About half way through it, I will a admit it got a lot better and finally by the end I decided I liked it. So what is it about this story that differs so much from the rest?
First I think that Sam and Bob were more background characters this time around as opposed to being in the spotlight like on the rest of the series. I missed the fun banter between Sam and Bob not to mention there was no Mikhail who I'd truly grown to love. I craved some scenes with him and Jin.
I'm also not too sure how I feel about the fact that Nick is related to Santa Claus. It just was a bit too much for my taste. Other than that Nick was okay, likable but definitely not my favorite character. I grew to really like Zeph and wouldn't mind seeing a lot more of him in future books.
So while I didn't love it, the story grew on me.

In the aftermath of rescuing the children, Sam and Bob are now parents of little vampire girl Mal and as such they have to find a suitable school for her and they still have another girl under their care, one who has refused to speak out or give any information regarding who she is, until Mikhail gets her to tell him her name. After being attacked by sirens who come through a portal in Sam's bathroom, Eliza, the little girl, manages to call upon her guard, dragon shifter Jin, who helps them get rid of the sirens and ends up being Mikhail's mate.
Sam, Bob and Mikhail join Jin and Eliza to deliver her safely back to her father, the Dragon king, and hopefully find out who is behind her kidnapping.
I loved this book! Sam and Bob are as awesome as ever and I just adore their banter and chemistry. And I already loved Mikhail, so it was lovely to see him find such an amazing mate in Jin, who was just perfect for him.
I really liked that we get to know a bit more about what Sam really is and have him still trying to deny it, even if he's starting to accept that he's not fully human.
The case was interesting and I just adored the characters, while I'm not always fond of multiple POVs in books, in this series, it has worked great. All in all, a fantastic read! Very recommendable!

This book was a bit different from the others. It was a bit darker, less fun, with less Bob and Sam as true protagonists. I guess when you're dealing with necromancers, zombies and dead angels, there's not much to do there.
Still, the story was intriguing and while I didn't realize who the bad guy was until they pointed it out to me, it also gave the case closure, even if there still are a few loose ends there.
I wasn't too sure of Zeph at first, but he won me over with his devotion for Nick. And Nick was sweet and shy, and I liked seeing him gain confidence the longer he was with Zeph. The bit with Santa at the end was a bit odd, but other than that, I ended up liking the story, perhaps not as much as the others, but it was still a good read for me.
