Merle may be a successful television actor on a Vampire show but personally, he doesn't think he's all that special. Even being nominated for an Emmy won't convince him that he is on the way to being a star, after all, he didn't actually win. His night only gets worse when he's attacked on the beach by a group of homophobes determined to put him in his place. Lucky for him, a Knight in shining armor comes to his rescue in the form of a large yet beautiful man wearing a big pink puffer jacket.

What I Loved: It's no secret that I love Tara Lain books so it goes without saying that I'm a sucker for a sweet somewhat fairytale romance. Fool of Main Beach definitely had those super cute, extra sweet scenes that I've come to associate with Ms. Lain. It makes me smile and while I might hate to admit it, giggle just a little bit. I love that.

Tom was sweet and had the greatest heart. Not to mention how hard he worked, how loyal he was and frankly, how honest and protective he was. Merle was lucky in many ways to have someone as sweet and sincere love him so fiercely.

I really loved the friendships in this story, it's one of the many other things I associate with this author. The friendship between all the men is so strong and they make a great big family. It's fun when we get a glimpse at characters from previous books and get to see what they are up to and how their lives and relationships are going. Plus, it was fun to discover that these men were already friends with Tom before Merle ever introduced them so they all meshed so well.

What I Liked: I really liked the ending of this story and while I don't want to spoil anything, I will definitely say it's a good HEA. I thought it was cute and it had me laughing out loud.

What I Didn't Like: Well, I'm going to be honest here and say it took me a bit to be comfortable with Tom and Merle together. Here's the thing, I wasn't sure when I first started reading the story if Tom wasn't either slow or had some sort of mild intellectual disability. He was sweet and had this almost childlike innocence about things, yet he was a certified Electrician, lived independently and had good friends around him. The more I read, the more I stopped trying to figure him out and just went with it. But in the beginning, it bugged me a bit and had me concerned that he would get hurt and break my heart.

Overall, I really enjoyed Fool of Main Beach and definitely recommend it to fans of Tara Lain. I love this series and can't wait to see where it goes next.
