Tobias knows that women are a lot of trouble, and one in particular is more trouble than most. Yet even with the knowledge that she’s a pain in the ass, he doesn’t stop himself from doing the one thing he knows that he shouldn’t do—fall in love with her.
It’s supposed to be simple. Get in, get the girl, and get out.
What Tobias isn’t supposed to do is fall for the woman he’s supposed to rescue. But he can’t help being intrigued–and amused–by the defiance rolling off Audrey every time he so much as speaks to her. This fascination only intensifies with every single word from her delectable mouth.

It’s been six years since her assault, yet it feels like it happened just yesterday. Audrey’s sick and tired of feeling so useless. She’s had enough of being scared, she’s doesn’t want to be all alone for the rest of her life. All of that boils down to a woman who’s had enough of not doing anything to reclaim her life.
She’s at a loss as to how to move on, and every attempt she makes results in failure. Just when she’s ready to quit, a sexy biker is there to push her out of her comfort zone.
Under Tobias’ patient guidance, Audrey slowly makes her way back to herself. She lands a job that she adores, and she thinks she’s finally found her place in this world. Most surprisingly, though, she finds herself falling in love with a man that honestly scares her to death.
Just when she vows to take that final step that’ll put her past in her past forever, the life she wants to live is yanked away. Leaving her with nothing to pick up the pieces.

5 Stars!

She's done it again, Lani Lynn Vale has written a wonderful story of two broken souls who find a happiness and love together they never expected.

Audrey has spent the past six years perfecting the art of being alive but not truly living. After a brutal rape, she's become diligent about her safety to the detriment of having a relationship or getting close to any man. Now, though, she's finally ready to take steps to get her life back and to stop hiding away and relying on her brother and his family to take care of her.

Tobias aka Fender was tasked with protecting Audrey and bringing her to her brother Ghost. A member of the Dixie Wardens and a State Trooper he had the skills to keep her safe. As a man who lost his sister to suicide after she was raped, Tobias has the perfect background to know what Audrey might be going through. He had no idea that she would completely steal his heart right after meeting her.

Oh Gosh, these two are so great together. I absolutely adored how their relationship evolved over time and how we see Audrey coming out of her very controlled shell and beginning to trust Tobias. She actually finds a way to start living again and he's there with her the entire way, slowly introducing her to the possibility of a future with him while providing her a feeling of safety and trust.

Tobias is so great at being consistent and not giving up. He's sweet but he's real with Audrey. He lets her be sassy and spunky. He encouraged her to have fun and be who he imagined she was before her assault. When she was with him it all seemed so natural.

I loved Audrey. She was funny and had the kind of attitude that just made you laugh. She was so quick to spend time with Tobias that you could imagine these two truly became friends first. Combine that with their incredible chemistry and I'm pretty sure they became my favorite couple in this series.

I definitely recommend For The Love of Beard along with the rest of the Dixie Warden Rejects MC. I'm pretty sure this is Lain Lynn Vale's best series so far. Of course, I'm pretty anxious to read the Hail Raisers series and see what she has in store for us.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
