The landlord of her lakeside cottage, Flynn Beckett, is a vision straight from one of her naughtiest sex dreams. She's never worked this hard to interest a man, but there is something about Flynn that tells Lacey he's worth it. After catching Flynn's attention, Lacey taps into his secretive erotic side and they begin to play with a passion that could consume them both.

Meanwhile, a criminal roadie fresh out of prison, is ready to exact revenge on Lacey's best friend, Annie Logan. His destructive trek north to carry out his plan has law enforcement racing from one crime scene to the next in hopes of catching him before he reaches the tiny lakeside town Lacey and Annie have been calling home. Neither Lacey, Annie or Flynn are aware of the approaching danger...until it is too late.

If you enjoyed reading, Sheet Music: A Rock 'n' Roll Love Story, you will love Lacey's story. Another wild romp on and off the stage and in and out of bed, Lacey's story will not disappoint.

Lacey Sheridan heads to the Berkshires with the hopes of recording her solo album, however, things aren't as easy as she envisioned they would be. Meeting her new landlord is one of the upsides, though, or it would be if the man wasn't playing hard to get.

Flynn Beckett has been there, done that and got the T-shirt and the heartbreak that being with a rock star entails and he's not too eager for a repeat experience. However, Lacey is proving hard to resist.

Trouble is brewing on the horizon, though, in the form of a crazed roadie that is trying to get even with Annie Logan. A fact neither of them are aware of, until it's almost too late.

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Ann Lister's Rock Gods and Guarding the Gods series and it really saddens me to realize this doesn't quite translate to her female leads. I didn't like Lacey or Annie, they were supposed to be tough rock star queens and I just wanted to slap them sometimes when they were being stubborn to the detriment of their own well-being and the ones surrounding them. I loved Flynn and Michael, though, they were just amazing and made the story more than worthwhile.

However I felt about Lacey, I can't deny that Ms. Lister is a goddess in immersing her readers into the rock world. The concerts, the backstage, every detail is carefully crafted so it almost feels as if you're right there with them. Never mind the undeniable chemistry between Lacey and Flynn, which nearly set my kindle on fire. So, all in all, I enjoyed the book and MF readers probably won't get as many issues as I did with Annie and Lacey.

What is it with me and Ann Lister's female characters? I mean, the fact that I don't care for them has to be me, right? I love Ann Lister's MM books. She's a fantastic storyteller and her writing is top notch. I generally like her male characters and in fact, generally, like the stories themselves. So I guess this is going to be an instance in which my review may feel a bit skewed towards the lead character. I pretty much didn't care for Syd from the get go. At first, I wasn't sure what it was but by 10% in, I realized that her attitude towards Ben felt both over the top and slightly immature. I didn't get why she was so blatantly cold to him. Now, obviously being around famous musicians she knows how they operate and she didn't want to be seen as a "piece" they would think they could get with while they worked. Not to mention hating Simon (Ben's brother and the band's drummer) was definitely justifiable since he was a sleazy jerk. But, personally, Ben didn't give off the as*hole vibe, so her disdain for him was obnoxious. As the story progressed, I got more used to Syd but never really warmed up to her. On the other hand, I really liked Ben. He seemed more real to me. I liked their chemistry but just didn't care for Syd individually. When we get to the big conflict in the story, I have to say I thought Syd overreacted and didn't handle it with the maturity I'd expect from someone her age. It (and I want to avoid spoilers) was the kind of thing I expect from High Schoolers and College kids. There was way too much at stake at this point and for her to not discuss things and to walk away the way she did was terrible. Then to make it even worse she did what I believe was unforgivable (or at the very least something that would take a very very long time to get over). The fact that it was resolved so quickly, so easily forgiven, left an extremely bad taste in my mouth. I pretty much could not stand her at this point and didn't change my mind the rest of the story. I loved Ben, I could actually keep reading about him. However, as far as Syd is concerned, I'm not a fan. So do I recommend For All the Right a Reasons? Yes! It's Ann Lister, it's a good story but just be warned, you may not like Syd (or you might love her) but Ben is definitely worth it.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living on the island of Martha's Vineyard with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.

After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. Her 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world and her love of rock music is the inspiration for her erotic rock star romances.

The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Beyond The Music, Book 7 in the series, reached #1 in Gay Erotica in the Pre-Order and held that spot for several weeks. The last book in the series launches the spin-off series, Guarding The Gods, which is releasing in early summer 2016.

Fall For Me, Book One in the series was a Finalist in the 2013 Rainbow Award. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

  5. Congrats on AotM. I haven't read any of Ann's yet, but Guarding the Gods series seems really good, so I'd start with the first one, Zac's Mulligan. - Purple Reader,

  6. Thanks for the post. I'm not sure I have a fav romantic trope, b/c I like anything that's written well and goes beyond the trope. But the trope helps set it up, and I like ones that highlight the tension and the relationship needs to develop, like opposites attract or enemies to lovers. - Purple Reader,
