Love sneaks up like a thief in the night.
Danny’s parents raised him to believe his wolf was a curse. He’s part of the wealthy and powerful Connoll Pack, but only nominally. He abandoned that world to volunteer with supernatural kids, and he isn’t looking for a mate….
Max is a shifter who is also a detective. He’s working a case that could make or break his career. Danny’s caught up in the case he’s on, and he’s also irresistible. They’re a bad match—Max, an Alpha having trouble with his new powers, and Danny, who trusts Alphas as far as he could throw one. But they can’t get enough of each other, and they might bond before they even see it coming.
They could be amazing together, but they have to get past a few obstacles—especially since someone close to Danny might be involved in the thefts Max is investigating.

4 Stars!

Stealing His Heart is a cute and easy story that takes place in the same verse as Camp H.O.W.L. There’s a good balance of romance and drama with a tiny bit of angst that makes for a pretty light easy read. I’m interested to see where the series goes and to meet new characters.

Both Danny and Max were quite likable and the had good chemistry. I liked how patient Max was and how he just wanted to take care of Danny and did his best not to be too overwhelming or domineering. He had a lot of patience and really demonstrated how much he cared about Danny as well as everyone else.

Max’s family was great too and I loved how they embraced Danny right away, treating him as if he were a member of the family and pack right away. Danny needed that and it felt more like a pack in my eyes. Danny’s family was so awful I couldn’t picture them as part of a pack at all.

Overall this is a book I’d definitely recommend to readers looking for sweet, easy paranormal stories. With this being Book 1 in the Connoll pack I am excited to see what comes next.

While set in the same universe as the Camp H.O.W.L. series, you don't need to have read those books to start here.

Danny is a member of the powerful Connoll Pack, but he feels like an outsider. He's doing his best to break away from his parents, and help other paranormal kids through his foundation. When Danny's apartment gets robbed, he flags down Max, hoping that Max is there to investigate. Max isn't just a detective, he's also a shifter. His instincts make him want to protect Danny at first sight and they don't let up from there.

I liked Danny and Max. Danny has a heart of gold. I have almost no idea how he managed to come out so wonderful with parents like his. Max was really good for Danny; I loved how he tried to help Danny without being overbearing and was willing to slow things down until Danny was comfortable with their relationship. And I loved how Max's family took Danny under their wing - as much as Max's family members drove each other crazy, they were wonderful and something that Danny really needed.

I liked the world building in this one, and I can't wait to read more in this series. I will admit that I was disappointed in not seeing more of Alpha Connoll and his beta Jackson in this book, but I'm sure we'll see them more in future.

Danny and Max were both strong characters in different aspects of their lives and I appreciated that in this story. A lot of the time, it is clear which character is the more submissive MC, especially in stories with fated mates but here we see each of their strengths and how they help each other.

The world that this book was set in was so interesting!! There was some good world building but I wanted more! It was so different than many of the shifters/supernatural books that I have read and every detail of the world we got made me want to learn more. There were not only werewolves but different types of shifters, witches and more. The underlying mystery throughout the story was intriguing and I liked seeing the breakdown of that. Everything was wrapped up nicely in the end but I feel like there is more that I want to know about how everything happened. I kind of wanted another book to see the other side of that situation!
