Release Date: March 20, 2019
Cover Design: Kellie Dennis / Book Cover by Design

Synopsis

𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫:

When Talon left to play pro ball six years ago, the hole in my chest confused me. I focused my heartache into making my own NFL dreams come true, and by the time I was drafted, the longing I had for my best friend was buried deep.

Now he wants everything to be like it was in college, but we can’t have threesomes and be reckless like we once were. The media storm would be enough to break both our careers.

That’s not my biggest concern though. The torch I had for him burns brighter after so long apart, and there’s nothing I can do about it. Marcus Talon is straight.

I need to stay away from him.

𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧:

Years ago, Miller and I made a pact that we’d win a Super Bowl together. When I’m offered a position on his team in Chicago, I don’t hesitate. I move across the country to chase a dream that’s a decade old.

Only, now that I’m here, he’s avoiding me every chance he gets. If he was anyone else, I’d cut my losses.

But this is Shane Miller—the guy who makes everything better just by existing in my universe. The guy I’d do anything for. The guy who’s more to me than a brother, a friend, or even a teammate.

I’m not going to let him get away.

4.75 Stars

While Blindsided is part of a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone, which is what I did, and although, I didn’t read the previous books, I was never once lost. I really loved the secondary characters I met from the previous stories, so I’ll definitely be picking up the other books and reading them.

It’s funny, I loved Miller from the beginning, but I wasn’t so sure how I felt about Talon, but truthfully, Talon turned out to be my favorite of the two.

Together, they fit and the chemistry between them was off the charts. Once they stopped avoiding one another and started hanging out again, I really enjoyed the back and forth banter between them and they had me chuckling throughout the story.

Sexually, they were smoking hot together and their relationship both sexual and otherwise progressed naturally and was realistic, especially considering the fact that Talon had never contemplated being with a man before Miller.

The story was well-written and once I picked it up, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down. I really enjoyed getting to buddy read the story with my co-blogger, Mari, and I loved being able to discuss stuff with her as we read, something that with our busy schedules we are rarely able to do.

This was a great story, enjoyable and filled with friendship, laughter, romance, passionate hot sex, love and a swoon-worthy ending. Definitely recommendable!

4.5 Stars!

Blindsided is book 4 in the Fake Boyfriend series, and it can be read as a standalone. However, I do suggest reading the other books because they were all awesome and you'll be missing out otherwise.

We met Talon and Miller on the second book of the series, Trick Play, and frankly, I wasn't too sure what to think about Talon. And when I started reading Blindsided, I thought Miller was going to be my favorite. However, the more I learned more about Talon, the more I loved him. Talon was a fantastic character, yes, he had some flaws, but for the most part, he was supportive and loyal, not only with Miller, but with Matt Jackson, their teammate, too. While I really liked Miller and I understood where all his doubts came from and why it took him so long to really believe that Talon was into him and no one else, I was somewhat frustrated with him. Despite that, I can't deny that they were perfect for each other and their chemistry was off-the-charts. Their relationship progressed very organically and I just loved the way the GFY angle was handled.

This was a great addition to the series, probably my favorite so far. It was fun, entertaining, steamy and well-written and I loved catching up with all the guys. Now, I can't wait for Jet and Soren's story!
