Gifted power over life and death, Lysandros has spent millennia in the underworld, listless and alone. The youngest child of Hades and Persephone, he’s been sheltered from the threats in the world above.

Theo Ward hasn’t been so lucky. After watching his mother wither away, he’d do almost anything to have her back. When a messenger appears at the Banneker College of Magic and offers the young professor a chance to save her, Theo can’t pass it up, even if it means going straight into the underworld and dragging her home. But Theo gets more than he bargained for when he crosses paths with the prince of Hades.

Set against the king of Olympus, they must shed their past burdens and learn to trust in each other, so they can face down a storm that threatens to wipe the nation’s capital off the map.

4.5 Stars!

Wow! This was a fantastic start of the Lords of the Underworld series and I'm already hooked!

Not only did the authors do a fabulous job collaborating to the point I almost forgot it was two writers instead of just one, but they created a world in which magicians, humans and Greek Gods and demigods coexist in a believable, masterful manner. Yes, there are some parts in which you need to suspend your disbelief/forget any knowledge of Greek Mythology you have, but frankly, it was done in such a way that it didn't bother me in the slightest and the fact that they didn't rehash on facts we already know was refreshing as well.

Theo was adorable, sweet and unassuming, and Lysandros, once he got over himself after the first misunderstanding they had, was his perfect counterpart. I loved them together, they seemed to bring out the best in each other and I was very happy with how things ended for them. I also enjoyed seeing them learn to trust each other and work together.

Overall, the book was intriguing, nicely paced and balanced the romance with the action very well. Now I'm eager to find out more about Prometheus story which is next and hopefully see more of Theo and Lysandros there. Highly recommendable!

About The Authors

Sam Burns wrote her first fantasy epic with her best friend when she was ten. Like almost any epic fiction written by a ten year old, it was awful. She likes to think she’s improved since then, if only because she has better handwriting now.
If she’s not writing, she’s almost certainly either reading or lost down a Wikipedia rabbit hole while pretending to research for a novel.
