Sometimes the perfect man can be found in the most unexpected place….
Martin Carmichael owns a security firm and is part owner of Club Whisper. He’s a Dom in search of the right guy, and when his car breaks down on a lonely stretch of road, he thinks he might have found him.
Artist Collin Malloy is talented, easygoing, but somewhat insecure. Still, he has a big heart and is quick to offer help when he sees Martin in need. To thank him, Martin invites Collin to dinner, where the attraction between them becomes harder to resist.
But what will become of their budding relationship when Martin reveals that he likes his men bound, submissive, and in pain? Is it something Collin can accept… and possibly enjoy exploring? Even if he can, Collin has a secret of his own—a secret he doesn’t even realize he’s keeping.

3.75 stars!

While I enjoyed reading this story and loved Collin, there were details that threw me out of the book a few times.

Martin Carmichael is not only the co-owner of Club Whisper, an exclusive BDSM club, he has his own security firm. He's been looking for a sub of his own and has started to believe he will never find the right man. While stranded on the side of the road, he meets Collin Malloy. Collin is an artist, who thinks nothing of picking up the hulking man that intimidated other motorists into driving right by him. Martin is almost immediately smitten, even though he has no idea if Collin is gay, let alone into BDSM.

I loved Collin. Collin was the star of this book for me. He was a breath of fresh air, so sweet and trusting. He's incredibly innocent and almost naive. His artistic vision and way of seeing the world around us were fascinating to read. I would love to see him creating things and sketching in real life. I also enjoyed Collin's interactions with Dog, and Martin's discomfort at seeing them together. Collin has one friend, who acts as his agent, but a number of things don't add up in Martin's mind. It becomes obvious that Collin's agent/friend has kept him isolated, but for Collin's safety or is it something else?

Martin was hard to for me to understand at times. When he's with Collin, he seems very happy and open to what Collin brings into his life. However, there were instances I doubted this was the confident, worldly man he was portrayed to be. I can understand that bringing in a free-spirited novice into BDSM could be daunting, but some of his actions belied the idea that he was an experienced Dom and co-owner of an exclusive BDSM club. I liked Martin, I just felt like there were times when he wasn't consistent with his background.

In the end, I think that they work well as a couple and that the feelings are clearly there. Martin needed to loosen up and find someone different. Collin found new friends and a lover that cherished him and his unique qualities.
