He is a fearless protector by nature and in his heart. But nothing’s ever simple with love… or fate.
At nearly seven feet tall, Zeus’s role had always been to protect the pack—but his newest charges need him more than most. Kimber and Kron are transplants from another pack, and they have a dangerous stranger on their tails. Zeus is determined to do his duty and drive the human out of town. But when he confronts Toren, his wolf has other ideas….
Something isn’t right, but should a huge, tattooed wolf with a secret soft heart fear his fate—to love a man with secrets of his own?
3.5 Stars!
Definitely my favorite so far in this series, most likely due to finally getting used to the author’s style and the world that has been created. I feel as if I could connect more with this story and romance. Of course, I loved Zeus and Toren so that helped quite a bit in the long run.
I loved the banter and the humor we got throughout the story. Whether it was Max and Seth or Max haranguing (in a caring way, of course) Zeus or even Zeus and his variety of interactions, I laughed out loud quite a bit. Max has a way of being both irritating and endearing at the same time. Not only to me but to Zeus as well.
Zeus and Toren were good together and I definitely found them believable. I liked how we got to see a different side to them and it all made sense when they were together. I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them that’s for sure. I’ll definitely be picking up the next book.

i liked interconnected series more but I won't say no to reading a standalones.
ReplyDeleteinterconnected series
ReplyDeleteI like interconnected series a little more than standalones.
ReplyDeleteI like both but for interconnecting stories I don't like if it'll be continuous for more than 5-10 books more than that I give up the series like stories. Ex. Mary Calmes has expanded her Matter of Time series by creating stories for secondary characters or just making them connect to other standalones. I liked it but now I feel like I can't keep track of all the coincidence (not coincidences) of characters from other books making a cameo.
ReplyDeleteI like interconnected a bit more, because then I get to see the relationship more realistically as it develops over time.
ReplyDeleteBoth interconnected series and standalone books work for me. It would depend on the entirety of the book for me rather than just one or two elements. When it works, it works.
