Tony Gatti had his life planned: get his veterinarian license and go to work with his dad and uncle. Soon after achieving his goals, he learned the shadows and blurriness in his vision went beyond needing glasses. Retinitis Pigmentosa is a genetic mutation with no cure. With his sight almost gone, he moves into his grandmother’s St. Augustine, Florida home with his guide dog, Raven, to start life over. Nonna Concetta thinks she knows the perfect job for him. Her vet is looking for someone to destress the cats at a local rescue.
Javier didn’t plan to hire a cute former veterinarian to fill the role of cat cuddler, but Tony couldn’t be more perfect. Worried his attraction is inappropriate and knowing the holiday season always depresses him, Javier wonders if he should ask Tony out, or if he'd just be spreading the gloom to someone who already has enough of his own. But if he takes the plunge, could it turn out to be the best holiday ever?

Tony is currently living with his grandmother and trying to start his life over after finding out that he is losing his eyesight. His grandmother suggests he take a cat-cuddler job at a local rescue. Javier is the veterinarian at the rescue. When he interviews Tony, he wants to offer him the job, but doesn't want to acknowledge his attraction to Tony. Eventually, he asks Tony out for dinner.
I liked Tony. He is still coming to terms with his diagnosis, and he's got a guide dog to help him. He's relatively upbeat about things and is making the most of his eyesight while he can. Javier was a genuinely nice guy. He didn't coddle Tony, but was there to lend a hand if needed. Javier's family had some rough edges that brought him down, but thankfully Tony and his grandmother were able to make Christmas a brighter day for Javier.
This Christmas story was cute and angst-free. If you're looking for a sweet, easy read for the holidays, this story is for you.

This book was adorable and I’m glad I picked it up. I was a little nervous not having read this author before, but the men and the animals were all the cutest characters. The storyline was purrfect for the length of the book. I really enjoyed reading this one and was surprised by how well it was written for being so short, coming in right around 50 pages.
Both men love animals and became veterinarians. But learning why Tony isn’t able to do what he loves anymore was heartbreakingly sad. The fact that Javier was able to give him such a cute job in order to keep him immersed in something close to their chosen profession even with his newer disabilities was nice. I really didn’t understand Javier's family issues. I mean his close family is what should count and that they didn’t really take his side and support him was a really lame decision on their part. But I’m glad Javier and Tony both took a chance on each other. I really thought these guys were great together. I also wouldn’t have minded getting more added to this story or even another short book with them as well.

Purrfect Holiday by Jana Denardo is a standalone short about an Italian man who is slowly losing his sight. He finds a job as a cat cuddler and starts dating the vet at work and the rest is history.
I was sad that it was so short. I loved the characters and the storyline and I ended the book in a bit of a daze - all I could say was awwwww for a few minutes. A truly great book.
P.S. I totally want that job...
