P.I.T.A. is book 3 in the L.A. Liaisons series by Brooke Blake, while it could technically be read as a standalone, you'll truly be missing out if you don't read Licked and Hooker.
Paige Iris Traynor-Ashcroft, aka P.I.T.A, and Richard "Dirty Dick" Dawson, were best friends growing up until an incident when they were in college turned them into frenemies. However, there's this underlying attraction between them that all of Paige's best friends see, but that she refuses to give into. Until they coincide in Vegas for her parents' anniversary and sometimes, not all that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
I loved Dawson! We'd gotten glimpses of him in the previous books, but I had no clue what I was getting into when I started P.I.T.A. I have to say that for a book told entirely from one of the character's POV (Paige's), Brooke Blaine did a fantastic job in showing us who Dawson really was and damn, if he wasn't dreamy. I loved how relentless and stubborn he was in pursuing Paige, because really, otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten anywhere. LOL Paige was awesome and it was lovely getting to know her more in-depth. She was kickass, but at the same time had this hidden vulnerability that endeared her to me.
From the flashbacks from when they were younger to the present, it was obvious Paige and Dawson were perfect for each other. The sexual tension between them was thick enough to cut with a knife, their chemistry was magnetic and the sex was hotter than hot!
While I've loved the previous books in the series, I think Paige and Dawson are my new favorite couple. I also adored that we got to catch up with Ryleigh, Shayne, Quinn and even Ace and I'm looking forward to Quinn's story and finding out why she's all mysterious all the time.
The book was fun, engaging, sexy, romantic, angsty and Brooke Blaine made me go through an emotional rollercoaster while reading it. It was an unputdownable story that I'm sure I'll read again and again. Definitely a must-read!
