When insecurities and fears rear their ugly head, Beck and Dax hit a rough spot they have to work through. I adored getting to revisit Dax and Beck. I think I love them even more now, than I did at the end of the first book. The amazing love and chemistry Dax and Beck shared in "On Solid Ground" was recaptured in this leg of their journey, and you can feel it coming off the pages of this book. The story is well written and paced well. In the continuation of Dax and Beck's story it takes us through their struggles and challenges, and also their accomplishments and achievements. Through the highs and lows. What I really loved most about this story is it's realistic. It shows us that life and relationships aren't perfect. You have to work and fight to make it work every single day.
“How’d you get so good at this shit?”
Pulling his face toward mine, I kiss him with every ounce of love and respect I have for him. With our foreheads resting against one another, I fill the small space between us with the words, “All you’ve ever told me is how capable I am. You’ve always reminded me of how loving and kind I am, about how damn good my life is. So the answer is simple really.”
I kiss him once more, smiling as our lips touch. “I got this good because of you. And you’ll get this good because of me. And we’ll build a good life together because of each other.”
“But if –”
“When,” I correct him before completing his sentence.
“When things fall apart and it all feels like it’s too much to handle, we’ll be there for each other to pick up the pieces and rebuild it stronger than before.”
This book is beautiful, and jam packed with heart, feeling, angst, sweetness, love, humor, family and plenty of passionate hot sex. I couldn't put it down and I can't recommend it enough. If you haven't met Beck and Dax yet, you're missing out. I know I'll be rereading this again in the future!

Dax and Beck are having some problems getting on the same page regarding their upcoming wedding, miscommunication and Dax's anxieties playing a huge part in what's affecting their relationship. Is love enough to help them get over this rough patch?
I didn't think I could love Beck and Dax any more than I did when I read On Solid Ground, but Melissa Collins managed to make me fall even more for them, especially Beck, because there were more than a few times in which I would've liked to slap some sense into Dax! I really enjoyed seeing them go through all they did in this book, though, to see them dealing with real problems and while it was a rocky road, it all was worthwhile to see them emerge from it stronger and even closer and more in love than they were before.
I adored Violet, and it was lovely to catch up with all the wonderful characters from On Solid Ground and a few new ones.
All in all, this was an outstanding read, angsty, raw, sweet, real and with a lot of heart, that I most assuredly will read again soon. Highly recommendable!
