Note to self, ALWAYS read the blurb! Something I failed to do. I have been waiting for Drew and Eric's story. When I started reading I was confused as to why Bryce had a POV in Drew and Eric's story. I finally read the synopsis and quickly discovered, this was Eric, Drew, and Bryce's story. I am not a fan of ménage/Poly books. Honestly though, it's Sloan's book and I'm so invested in and love this series, there is no way I would have skipped this book, even if I had realized it was a M/M/M, before I started reading it.

This wasn't a badly written book at all. I'm not sure Sloan could write a bad book. The book flowed well and moved at a good and steady pace. There was some steamy sex, but this book just wasn't for me. I didn't feel the cohesive blending of the characters. I felt the connection between Eric and Drew, but some things didn't sit right once Bryce was added to the mix. I really didn't care for his character. I can't even put my finger on it, but I just didn't like him. I felt like he intruded in on the relationship. I just kind of wished he would go away.


I'm conflicted as to how many stars to give this book, because I loved the storyline and backdrop of the story, being centered around the youth LGBT shelter, and I also adored the guys' interactions with Cody, one of the teens from the shelter. As far as the romance side of the story, I'm sorry, but I just didn't feel it.

As I much as I want to love every one of Sloan's books, because she is one of my favorite authors, I'm sorry to say I just didn't love this one. I will be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Cody and Nick's story though!

So to sum it all up, I loved the story, just not the romance portion with Bryce involved. I just didn't connect with him. If you have loved the other books by Sloan, you'll most likely love this one as well. This is a series, and the other characters do appear in each of the books, but I don't think you'll be lost reading any as a standalone, but I wouldn't recommend missing the first two!

She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself with a good book and forget she has somewhere to be.
