But time and fate are not on our side.
My president—her blood brother.
My patch—so close I can taste it.
Yet, I have to choose. Is there really a choice?
My club or the girl.
This woman shines brightly. She's adored, worshiped, and cherished by everyone, not only me. I'm just the unlucky prospect who fell for her.
But we're complicated. I want my patch, but I can't have her and it at the same time.
This story isn't only about a man fighting to have both—it’s secrets, battles, defection, and scandal.
Betrayal—it’s imminent.
3.5 Stars
Book 4 in the Defiance MC Series is the story of Tremor (The Prospect) and Neala (Club Princess). This can be read as a standalone but I, personally, felt a bit out of the loop having not read the previous books, however, I’m a sucker for a good MC romance and I couldn’t pass it up.
With Tremor working to earn his patch he has to watch his step and he’s determined to prove himself to the club and most importantly the Club’s President. But life’s never easy and he can’t help but wish he could have his patch and the woman he’s falling for. Neala’s off limits though and Pres already threatened him if he pursued anything with his little sister, his Patch is on the line.
Neala’s is hurt by the way Tremor is acting around her and the choice he made in name of the patch. She wants him but knows she needs to move on. If only it were that easy.
There was plenty of drama in this one, which is always welcome in a MC Romance. I love the angst and the conflicts (I miss Sons of Anarchy lol). I enjoyed Tremor and Neala, their story was entertaining. I just wish I was more familiar with the series and the other characters so I would’ve felt more in the know about the dynamics of it all. Not to mention the history of the MC.
I’ll be honest, it will take a little time to get used to the writing. I felt it was a bit too sweet and formal for a MC book. I generally like a darker read with a little more grit. I’ve grown used to it over the years and I tend to look for it now. I also have to say, I prefer older characters when it comes to these types of books. Their ages just seemed too young to completely take as seriously as I’d have liked (I might be slightly agist).
Overall, this was an entertaining read and likable characters. I’m sure the series will be a favorite for many readers and some of the men are scrumptious. Of course, it’s also filled with a whole slew of feisty, sassy ladies.

Australian author K E Osborn was born and raised in Adelaide, South Australia. With a background in graphic design and a flair for all things creative, she felt compelled to write the story brewing in her mind.
Writing gives her life purpose. It makes her feel, laugh, cry and get completely enveloped in the characters and their story lines. She feels completely at home when writing and wouldn’t consider doing anything else.
