Excerpt -from If Only The World by Leona Windwalker

He hurried through the office door, shutting it behind him.
Sir?
I don't suppose you know why I called you in here? His father stood up from his chair and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked pointedly at Merle as if he should know the answer but was too stupid for the answer to even occur to him.
Yeah. You're an asshole and found something to bitch about. Again.
No, sir,Merle replied neutrally.
You should. I just got a call from your Mama.
From Mama? What she got to do with anything? Was I supposed to do something for her?I left her my apartment key so she could let the guys in when they deliver the washer. Shit! Did I get the day wrong? Today is the 12th, right?
I-I could have sworn the delivery was supposed to be today...
His father impatiently waved that notion away. That's not the issue. They've already rang her and were on there way. But your Mama was mighty surprised to see what kind of 'fun' you got up to over Labor Day Weekend. I'd let you off thinking it'd be good for a young man your age to go have a bit of fun, hang out with other young people your age. I didn't expect to find you were...were cavorting with perverts.
Cavorting? Who the hell even still uses that word? Wait, what? Perverts?
The blood drained from his face. The pictures. He'd printed off several photos intending to give the copies to friends in a collage. He'd left them there on the table trying to decide if it was a lame idea or not, weighing it up against simply doing the usual thing and uploading them to his private Twitter feed.
Well, shit. Dumb ass me didn't think to put them away, oh no.
I see you don't deny it. That's good. At least you're an honest pervert, so maybe there's some hope for you. I love you son, so I hope you understand this is all for your own good.
