After Brad graduates from Military School, he bypasses home heads straight to MN, to look for a job and a place to live for the summer until college starts. While sleeping at the local truck stop he hears a guy and his date arguing. When the date starts to sound violent, because Danny won't put out, Brad steps in.
While waiting for Danny's brother to come and get him, Brad and Danny hang out after the date finally takes off. Danny and Brad are attracted to one another and get along well, but when Danny asks Brad for a date, Brad refuses.
I love that even coming from totally different backgrounds and family environments they just fit.
I really loved Danny's family, well most of his family. His brother Ray, I could have done without most of the time. I loved the interactions between Brad and the members of Danny's family. Being with them, Brad discovers the true meaning of family.
Brads parents and brothers actions, make just cringe. They are horrific. Some people aren't fit to be called human beings!
This was a good book. The characters had good chemistry and I connected with them. I loved the slow burn, and that they actually got to know each other as friends before jumping into a relationship. This book was well written and flowed well. I was so heartbroken for Brad. I can't imagine the things he went through. It's horrible to think there is such evil in this world.
This is my first book from this author, but I'll be looking for more, I really loved the writing style!
