Release Day Review: Daddy, Daddy, and Me by Sean Michael

Title: Daddy, Daddy, and Me
Author: Sean Michael
Release Date: February 23, 2018
Category: Contemporary
Pages: 162
When Jeff agreed to be the sperm donor to his best friend Beth, he never expected a tragedy to leave his newborn and three-year-old motherless. Beth’s loss has totally thrown his life into chaos: his lover has left him, his house isn’t anywhere near childproof, and his boss feels the restaurant has been patient enough with Jeff’s time off.

Donny has always known he wanted to work with kids, and he just finished his degree in early childhood education. He didn’t count on the prejudice he’d face as not only a male nanny, but a gay one at that. Job-hunting has been frustrating to say the least, so when he knocks on Jeff's door and is greeted by the sounds of things breaking and a pair of screaming children, he thinks maybe he can begin this particular interview with a trial by fire.

Becoming the nanny to Jeff's children might be a dream come true for Danny and exactly what Jeff needs, but are either of them ready to really be a family?

3.5 Stars!

Jeff, a gay man who donated sperm so his best friend could have children, suddenly finds himself thrust into fatherhood after her sudden death. Unable to completely manage everything with the massive change to his life, he decides to hire a Donny as the children’s Manny.

Donny hasn’t had the best luck finding a job since graduating school. Both his gender and sexual orientation seem to be working against him. Luckily, Jeff is willing to give Donny a chance. Donny, of course, becomes an important part of this new family and both men find things seem to work much better when both of them are together.

Sean Michael is kind of hit or miss for me but I have had this one on my TBR list for a while. However, I’m a bit disappointed that it wasn’t as great as I’d hoped. Now, don’t get me wrong, it was cute, especially the kids. It was a decent read that was quick and easy. In the end, though, it was a bit too sweet for me, not enough conflict or angst really. If that’s what you look for in a story, however, I definitely recommend it.
