A friends-to-lovers novella that came from Out of the Shadows, because Nate and Dylan needed a story….
Nate and Dylan have been pals for a long time. So what if their friends think they’ve got a little bromance going? Doesn’t mean there’s anything more to it than that, right? And even if there is, Nate and Dylan are totally oblivious….
Until the night they share a drunken kiss—and everything changes.

This story combines a bit of friends to lovers with a side of double gay-for-you. Nate and Dylan have been friends since they were young. After being stood up by their three buddies on what was supposed to be a night out with friends they end up back at Nate’s place for a night of movies, popcorn and drinking. The drinking leads to events that end up with Nate and Dylan kissing. Can they make the transition from friends to lovers?

I liked the premise of the story and I loved both Nate and Dylan. They were sweet and funny. I loved the easy banter between them, but the romance between them just didn’t work for me. It was awkward and I never felt comfortable with them as a couple. It felt forced, especially the dates. I think had they just went on as friends and added sex to their relationship instead of trying to force the romance the coupling would’ve felt more natural and believable. There was also no spark or chemistry between Dylan and Nate.

The writing was good and the story enjoyable, but the romance fell flat. Still, enjoyable and recommendable!
