Virtual Tour: Infamous by Jenny Holiday (Review + Giveaway)

Hello! I’m Jenny and I’m happy to be here to celebrate the release of Infamous. Infamous is book two in the Famous series, which mixes m/f and m/m romance. (And mixes famous musicians and regular people!) In Infamous, Jesse, our resident bad-boy rock star has to decide if he’s willing to risk his career to be with Hunter, a doctor he’s rapidly falling for. I hope you enjoy it!

About Infamous

All that up-and-coming musician Jesse Jamison has ever wanted is to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. When a gossip website nearly catches him kissing someone who isn’t his famous girlfriend—and also isn’t a girl—he considers the near miss a wake-up call. There’s a lot riding on his image as the super-straight rocker, and if he wants to realize his dreams, he’ll need to toe the line. Luckily, he’s into women too. Problem solved.

After a decade pretending to be his ex’s roommate, pediatrician Hunter Wyatt is done hiding. He might not know how to date in the Grindr world, how to make friends in a strange city, or whether his new job in Toronto is a mistake. But he does know that no one is worth the closet. Not even the world’s sexiest rock star.

As Jesse’s charity work at Hunter’s hospital brings the two closer together, a bromance develops. Soon, Hunter is all Jesse can think about. But when it comes down to a choice between Hunter and his career, he’s not sure he’s brave enough to follow his heart.

5 Stars!

Jesse and Hunter, a budding rockstar and a pediatrician respectively, two people who should never have crossed paths meet on a train from Montreal to Toronto. The two hit it off right away and chat for the entire five-hour trip, but they head off to their separate lives once they step off the train.

They meet again when Hunter contacts Jesse whose band, Jesse and the Joyride, has gained much notoriety and popularity over the past two years since they first met on the train, and asks him to visit one of his sick patients in the hospital, who is a big fan of Jesse and his band.

Jesse agrees and after that initial visit he continues to come back and visit the kids in the hospital, as well as Hunter and soon he and Hunter become very close friends, something neither of them has ever really had before in their lives.

I absolutely LOVED this book and I adored both Hunter and Jesse, they were such caring and sweet guys and they fit perfectly together, whether in friendship or as a couple. They really cared about their families and friends/bandmates and in Hunter’s case, his patients. The author really took her time to develop both Jesse and Hunter as well as their relationship. Not only did they get to know each other, but I really got to know them, as well.

This is an extremely slow burn, like create another word for greater than slow burn story, and usually (for me, anyway) this would have been frustrating and perhaps annoying, but honestly, as the pages of the story and the months of friendship between Hunter and Jesse slip by, I was never once bored or thinking of skimming ahead. This story truly held me captivated and I didn’t want it to end, in fact, I messaged my co-blogger at about the 68% mark and told her “I’m only at 68%, but I’m not ready for it to end.” I almost wanted to set the book aside or read slower to savor the story, but I couldn’t put it down and I was right, because as perfect as the ending was, I really wasn’t ready to say goodbye to Hunter and Jesse.

The unresolved sexual tension and chemistry between Hunter and Jesse was off the charts and once they finally, FINALLY, gave into and acted on their feelings, it was sweet and passionate and absolutely perfect.

Okay, I’m gonna stop babbling now and just say, I’m in awe of the fact that this is apparently this author's debut MM novel. It was well-written and enjoyable and I can’t recommend enough that you go one click this book, you won’t regret it. I’m really hoping this isn’t the author's final endeavor into this genre, because I can’t wait for more! Go one-click it! What are you waiting for?!

About Jenny Holiday

Jenny Holiday started writing in fourth grade, when her aging-hippie teacher, between Pete Seeger songs, gave the kids notebooks and told them to write stories. Jenny’s featured poltergeist, alien invasions, or serial killers who managed to murder everyone except her and her mom. She showed early promise as a romance writer, though, because nearly every story had a happy ending: fictional Jenny woke up to find that the story had been a dream, and that her best friend, father, and sister had not, in fact, been axe-murdered. Today she is a USA Today bestselling author of historical and contemporary romance. She lives in London, Ontario.

  6. Congrats, Jenny, and thanks for the good review, Tracy. This sounds like a great debut M/M novel - what with the two caring guys, bisexuality, closet and slow burn. - Purple Reader,
