Locked-down at a Los Angeles intervention facility, everyone around Dante Dupont and his Black Ice band mate, Ashton Lane, thought this would fix the issues between them. Dante and Ashton knew differently. What made this a hundred times worse was the fact they were stuck in this room together. They hadn't shared space like this since the one afternoon they both wanted to forget. And, revisiting that nightmare was not an option . . . with or without the help of a therapist.
Two musicians. Same band. Afraid to admit their true feelings, being in close quarters again has them both at their breaking point. They say if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but neither of them can find a reason to leave, and fighting the fire is becoming more and more difficult to do.
Dante's baggage isn't pretty and his scars run deep, but Ashton might be the one to finally see beyond his past and help him find a way out from the smoke screen he's spent his life hiding behind. In order to get there, though, they'll both have to walk through the flames.

Excerpt:

“Ashes, we're going to play a little game.”
“What kind of game?”
“I'm going to teach you how to engage all your senses . . . by removing one of them: your sight,” Dante said, enunciating the last letter of the word. “Are you willing to play along, or are you going to use your safe word?”
“Let's do it,” Ashton answered.
Another long moment passed and Dante could see the tension start to coil in Ashton's muscles. He watched Ashton dip his head and his body respond to the various sounds that echoed around him. Ashton's naturally inquisitive personality reflected in all the subtle movements his body made. Dante watched the swipe of Ashton's tongue across his bottom lip. Those plump pillows were sexy as fuck wrapped around his cock, but even now, Dante couldn't help himself from taking a quick taste.
Dante closed the distance between them and brushed their lips together. “Ashes, tell me what you can smell,” Dante whispered against Ashton's partially open mouth, then he leaned back to watch Ashton's face.
“I ah, smell . . . aftershave, a tiny bit of flowery perfume, and . . .” Ashton stopped when he heard the man in the sex swing cry out in orgasm.
“Focus!” Dante commanded. “What do you smell?” Dante watched the Adam's apple bob in Ashton's throat. He wanted to bite and lick it but that would have to wait.
“I smell leather.”
“What else?”
Ashton was silent for another moment while he considered his answer and then he grinned knowingly. “Latex, sweat . . . and come.”
The smile on Dante's face grew impossibly large. He was extremely proud at Ashton's attention to their game and decided to continue. “Very good, Ashes,” Dante cooed and ran his fingers down the front of Ashton, over his chest and abdomen, and then down lower to cup his impressive bulge. The hiss coming from Ashton made Dante's cock flex in his pants. “What can you hear around us?”
“Oh, God . . . I hear fucking,” Ashton replied. “Lots of fucking, and I am so turned on right now. I really want to watch.”
“You will, but first you need to tell me what you hear, Ashes.”
Ashton's head dropped forward. “One of the guys over by the swing just came and the dude getting the blowjob behind us just shot his load, too. The scent of come is really heavy in the room right now.”
Again, Dante smiled with pride. “Do you like this game?” Dante asked. His palm was massaging Ashton's cock again through his pants.
Ashton bit his lip and his hands reached to touch Dante, but Dante stopped him from reaching his target. Instead he grabbed onto one of Ashton's hands and tugged him into another room. The smells in this room weren't much different than the last, so Dante didn't bother asking. But, the sounds in this room were very different.
In the middle of this room were three Saint Andrew's Crosses set-up on platforms. Several fuck benches and other equipment sat nearby, including another roped sex swing. Two of the crosses were empty, while the middle cross had a man and a woman playing out a scene.
Dante moved behind Ashton again. He set his chin on top of Ashton's shoulder and crossed his arms over Ashton's pelvis. “What do you hear in this room?” As soon as Dante asked the question the sounds that radiated from the Saint Andrew's Cross in the center of the room sliced through the air.
“Jesus! I hear some kind of a whip against skin, or something,” Ashton answered.
“Close. It's a woman getting flogged,” Dante said beside Ashton's ear. “How do those sounds make you feel?”
“Edgy,” Ashton commented. “I'm not sure I want to try that, yet.”
“I know, and we won't,” Dante confirmed.

Omg, I've been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting somewhat patiently for this book. I couldn't wait to get to Dante and Ashton's story. Ann definitely made it worth my wait. I loved Dante and Ashton. Two men who are thrown into an intervention, because all they do is fight, both with words and fists. They go too far when a Police Officer is injured. Will an intervention work? Will they be able to be civil to one another, and maybe even repair their damaged friendship?

Ashton and Dante are different than the other couples in the Rock Gods series. The attraction and chemistry is wild, bordering on animalistic. Dante and Ashton aren't sweet and tender. They are rough and tough, but the fire, love and passion they share still shines through brightly. They were also hilarious! I haven't laughed out loud while reading a book in a long time. This book dealt with a very serious subject matter, though. I'm not going to say what, but just that Ann handled the subject matter with grace and dignity.

I love Ann's writing. She pulls you in and holds you captivated, until you get to the ending. These stories are filled with passion, love, friendship and some major HOT man on man action. I can't wait for Linc's book!

  6. Great post. I grew up with what they now call "Classic" Rock and Hair Bands. But there haven't been many genres that I haven't enjoyed. When my daughter discovered Hanson, N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, I knew every word as well as she did. LOL Christmas, even now, all of those girl and boy artists are part of my holiday traditions. Thanks for a chance in the giveaway.

  8. I love Motown. I listened so much that my daughter says she's the ony one of her friends that can sing most every word to almost every song from Motown of the 60's - 70's.
