I have to admit I don’t really read unfinished series, mostly because I hate waiting; however, the blurb for this story is very intriguing and I just couldn’t resist.
That said, I think this is a very nice set-up for the rest of the story. We meet Bee and the two men that will be vying for her attention, one a billionaire and the other a biker. While she fancies herself in love with the billionaire, she’s insanely attracted to the bad boy.
Bee is very likable. She’s loyal, a hard worker and kind and just trying to make the most of her life, while helping her mother out and trying not to make the same mistakes her mother did when she got involved with a biker and then had her. She longs for a billionaire husband, one who can help her mother more than she manages to now and give Bee all the things she’s longed for all her life and she has her sights set on Nicolas Rainer, who she admires from afar every single day.
I loved that even if she was quite infatuated with Nicolas, she wasn’t a doormat for him after a first not-too-good encounter. She stood up for herself and turned an otherwise horrible situation into something promising when he realized she was not quite like the other women he knew.
I have to say, though, that while Nicolas could be charming and nice, I’m so Team Hawke. *fans self* The man oozes sex-appeal and there’s something about him that just makes me think he’d be more of a match for Bee than Nicolas.
I’m really looking forward to reading more of the series and discovering who she’s going to choose and see who’s behind the mysterious requests Bee started receiving. I also want to know more about Hawke and Nicolas and even Bee’s friend, Cindy, and see how it all is going to play out. I devoured the book once I finally got to reading it. It’s well-written and I just couldn’t put it down.
All in all, a fantastic start to what promises to be a very good series. I’m hooked and hope to read more of it as soon as I possibly can.
