**This book was provided to me by the author/publisher via Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review**Micah is on his way to becoming head of the Neurology department. He is cold, rude, mean, and a loner who lets no one but his best friend Alex in. After a horrible childhood, and then a heartbreaking experience in college, Micah has shut himself off from almost everyone, even his sweet grandmother.
After Josh comes home to find his boyfriend in bed with another man, he dissolves their law practice and moves from Boston to New York to be near his grandmother.
Josh takes a job as a barista, until he can decide what he wants to do with his career and on his first day encounters a very unpleasant customer, Micah. Micah is of course an ass to Josh (big surprise)!
After receiving news about his grandmother, Micah goes to her nursing home to set people straight, and again runs into Josh. Turns out Josh and Micah's grandmothers are best friends.
Micah and Josh are physically attracted to one another, but Micah doesn't do more than a one night stand and Josh doesn't do one night stands or assholes!! But when tragedy strikes, Micah turns to Josh for comfort and support. Will Josh be able to break though Micah's walls?
This was a really good book. I loved Josh. He was sweet, caring, supportive and loyal. He was a very likable character. Micah, well as I have said already, twice I think, he was a real asshat, but he was also a very broken man. He uses being rude and cold to people to keep his heart locked away so he never gets hurt again. The mood swings from this character were unbelievable. I actually started to wonder if he was schizophrenic. LOL One minute he was sweet and loving and then seemingly for no reason, he was back to being an ass. Most of the time you feel bad for emotionally damaged characters, but Micah made it hard to have any sympathy at times for him. I would just start to feel bad for him, and then bam! Asshat AGAIN!!
Even as much of a jerk(I am trying a new word), as Micah was to Josh, they had great chemistry and passion. The love scenes were beautifully written and they were just that. It didn't feel like sex, it felt like love. That's not to say it wasn't hot, it was, but Micah and Josh just had an unbelievable connection. Even before I Love you was said, you felt their love for one another.
I have never been to New York, but it's on my bucket list, and I enjoyed Felice playing tour guide for me. :)
This is Felice's 3rd book, I have read all of them, and I haven't been disappointed yet! I am looking forward to more in the future!
I have always been a romantic at heart. I believe that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. I started reading traditional historical romances when I was a teenager, then life and law school got in the way. It wasn’t until I picked up a copy of Bertrice Small and became swept away to Queen Elizabeth’s court that my interest in romance novels became renewed.
But somewhere along the way, my tastes shifted. While I still enjoys a juicy Historical romance, I began experimenting with newer, more cutting edge genres and discovered the world of Male/Male romance. Once I picked up her first, I became so enamored of the authors, the character-driven stories and the overwhelming emotion of the books, I knew I wanted to write my own.
I live in New York City with my husband and two children and hopefully soon a cat of my own. My day begins with a lot of caffeine and ends with a glass or two of red wine. I practice law but daydream of a time when I can sit by a beach somewhere and write beautiful stories of men falling in love. Although there is bound to be angst along the way, a Happily Ever After is always guaranteed.
