Jonas needs Tate. He just doesn't know it yet.
Or at least, he doesn't want to admit it. Because there is no way Jonas Ashcroft is gay. He's a straight, carefree frat boy player, just like any good son of a conservative state senator. If only his struggle to convince everyone—especially himself—didn't leave him so miserable. No matter how many girls or bottles he drowns himself in, Jonas can neither escape nor accept who he is.
Enter Tate. He's smart, confident, and instantly sees right through Jonas's surly exterior. Sure, he's done things in life he's not proud of, but he knows who he is and what he wants. And what he wants is Jonas. As their easy friendship intensifies into something more, Tate introduces Jonas to a life he's never known. One filled with acceptance and sex and a love that terrifies and excites them both.
But some inner demons refuse to be shaken off so easily. When Jonas's old life barges in, he faces a shattering choice, one that could destroy everything he and Tate have fought so hard for. Sometimes love just isn't enough—and sometimes it's exactly what you need.

Your past characters often make appearances in your current books. How hard is it to bring these characters back to life?
It isn’t hard at all, which is probably why they keep popping up in other books. It’s especially easy when I keep setting books/series in the same locations. But I tend to get attached to places like Stratton/Harrisburg, or Wilmington, so I keep going back. As a reader, when I’m enjoying someone else’s series, I am usually over the moon when a previous character/couple appears in a new installment. It gives me a chance to check in with old favorites, so I like giving that to my readers, as well.
Ezra Kelley is definitely the biggest culprit. His appearances in the Belonging trilogy made perfect sense, and, in a way, all three of those books ended up revolving around him to an extent. And getting him into Tag’s book, Getting It Right, wasn’t hard, since they had a history. But then Ezra seemed to take it upon himself as a personal challenge to make appearances in both Finding Their Way and Taking A Chance. He’s stubborn that way.
And now Ezra is all over my new All Saints series, starting with Come What May. His co-owned coffee shop, Half-Dozen, is visited by new guys Jonas and Tate, and Half-Dozen features even more heavily in book two, Say It Right. It was as if Ezra’s dream of his own business way back in his own book was the perfect seed to sprout a focal point for the All Saints guys. I love how things like that simply…work out.
There are some Restoration cameos in All Saints, too, so don’t worry!
I truly love every new couple I get to write about, and it’s that love of the characters that is what propels me to fold them back into a new book, or to let them pop up for a few lines in a scene. It keeps them alive in the reader’s mind. And it makes fiction feel that much realer.

Jonas is the straight, frat-boy player, that gets shipped by his conservative state senator father to his uncle's house in Wilmington after a prank gone bad that got him expulsed from college for a year.
Tate is the hard-working gay man, running a LGBT shelter and taking care of his sisters.
They appear to be polar opposites, but Tate sees something in Jonas that makes him push to know him better and it pays off as they strike a friendship that quickly blossoms into something deeper.
However, when Jonas's old life comes barging in, everything they've worked for might be destroyed.
I adored both Jonas and Tate. Jonas was so vulnerable beneath the prickly exterior and he showed so much growth during the book, that I just couldn't not fall in love with him. His strength in the face of all that happened to him, at least once he realized he wasn't alone, and the way he opened himself to others once he found the place where he was loved, were truly amazing. Tate was so sweet and supportive and I just loved how he interacted with his sisters. Together, Jonas and Tate had unbelievable chemistry and just made the other stronger, helping each other be better versions of themselves.
A.M. Arthur's writing was superb and the characters, both main and supporting, were complex and endearing (with a few notable exceptions, because I absolutely hated Jonas's parents) and she managed to make me feel so much with this book. I cried like a little baby through most of the second half of the story, but despite the angst, she managed to make it all better and leave me with a huge smile on my face and an insane urging to listen to Come What May with Ethan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.
This was a fabulous start to the series and I'll be looking forward to more, hopefully very soon!

About A.M. Arthur
No stranger to the writing world, A.M. Arthur has been creating stories in her head since she was a child and scribbling them down nearly as long. She credits an early fascination with male friendships and "bromance" (and "The Young Riders") with her later discovery of and subsequent affair with m/m romance stories. When not writing, she can be found in her kitchen, pretending she's an amateur chef and trying to not poison herself or others with her cuisine experiments
