Exposing his body for work is no problem, but after his heart’s been broken, putting it out there again won’t be so easy.
Up-and-coming young executives Copeland Shore and William Donnelly have been friends and sometimes more for years. For Cope’s birthday, Will plans a very special dinner—at a nantaimori restaurant where the most enticing thing is the table. Dai—the naked man beneath their sushi—has both their mouths watering, but when it comes to Dai’s heart, there’s only room at the table for one, and Will gets there first.
Will’s everything Dai thinks he wants in a man… until he’s betrayed. The betrayal also ends the friendship between Will and Cope and leaves Dai shaken and unsure if he can put his trust in another man—not even when a second chance for love and happiness rises from the ashes of the broken relationship. Cope wants to tempt Dai to take a risk with him, but the pain of the past is hard for Dai to shake off… and Cope has obstacles of his own to overcome.

3 Stars!

What I Loved: The cover of this one caught my eye, it is different, intriguing and kind of beautiful. The idea of a beautiful living table is, on one hand, quite appealing and at the same time, a bit intimidating but either way, I thought it would add a unique and sensual element to the story. That was probably my favorite part of the entire book, it had me excitedly waiting to find out how things would play out.

What I Liked: I liked the overall theme of the story. Two best friends who have their sights set on the same guy. One gets him and the other wishes he’d gotten there first. I had hoped for a much more emotional story, though.

What I Didn’t Like: Unfortunately, I found the head-hopping in this story to be a little much. I don’t mind dual POVs and I can even deal with three but I find too many POVs pull me from the story in the end. We got Dai, Will and Cope’s POVs. We also got Harlow, Drew’s and Tom’s POVs at one moment.

I also find it very annoying when I’m reading a romance and I have to wait until almost the end to have the two MCs get together. I expected Dai’s time with Will but then to throw in another guy afterwards... just too much for me. Dai and Cope barely spend any page time together and the majority of it is not under romantic conditions.

I hate to say this but I didn’t really care for the characters all that much. Will was an arrogant, self-absorbed, sleazy, oversexed jerk. Cope was at one moment witty and sexy, the next confident and intelligent and then he quickly became insecure, awkward and almost unapproachable. I felt like he had many chances to be the “Hero” of the story but then he just reverted to a shy 15-year-old boy with a crush. As for Dai, I’m not at all sure what he really was. He went from being endearing to being immature and impulsive. I felt no connection to him whatsoever.

Overall, I think this story had potential but it just didn’t quite live up to my expectations.
