But he does like sex–the hotter and harder, the better. He likes it fast and filthy, which is why he refuses to even touch someone as sweet and guileless as Samantha Jamieson. Clay Kincaid is used to picking up strays and helping others when they need him, which is one of the reasons his brothers, his workers, and friends nicknamed him Saint Clay. When Samantha Jamieson ends up at his bar, all liquored-up and without anywhere to go, his protective instincts kick in, even if he knows this woman will be trouble. Samantha has done what her parents have ordered her to do all her life, but when she discovers that her father plans to marry her off to a man who she doesn't love, she draws the line and escapes, right into Clay's bar. While she's never worked a day in her life, she adapts well to the bar and is very attracted to Clay, and even if the attraction is obviously mutual, Clay refuses to give in. She's persistent if nothing else, though...
I loved this book so much! Samantha is definitely not your usual airhead socialité. Her family is loaded, but she refuses to marry the man her father has appointed for her and runs away with only the clothes on her back. Once under Clay's protection, she doesn't renege on hard work and makes the best of what could've been a bad situation. Never mind that she's sweet and supportive, without letting anyone walk all over her. And Clay, well, he was protective and dominant and dirty as all hell, but he was also vulnerable, at least with Samantha, and very loyal. Together, they were damn hot and nearly perfect.
Really great start for this series! I can hardly wait to get started with Mason and Katrina's story and hopefully get to see Clay and Samantha there as well!
Rating: 4.5 Stars!!!

She had a small amount of cash on her, and there was no telling how much longer she'd have access to her credit cards before they were put on hold. She called a cab company, then got out of the car, tossed the keys and cell phone beneath the seat—since her father could track that, as well—and manually locked the door.
Within minutes, a taxi pulled up to where Samantha was waiting. The driver was a friendly young girl in her early twenties, and she was counting on the other woman to find her just the right place to celebrate her first night of freedom. A place where no one knew her or would judge her or would expect her to be the good girl she'd always been.
"My name is Angie." The girl glanced over her shoulder to the backseat with a friendly smile. "Where can I take you tonight?"
"To your favorite bar in the Chicago area."
Angie's brows rose in surprise as she took in Samantha's designer purse and high-end attire. "Are you sure about that? My favorite bar is a far cry from The Aviary," she said of the upscale lounge where the wealthy went to mingle and be seen. "The place I hang out at is a bit on the unrefined side," she said with a laugh.
Samantha grinned. "That's exactly what I'm counting on."
